Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have lived in Southern California nearly all my life and am a retired high school librarian. I have always enjoyed visiting old cemeteries. My family is originally from Ohio and my husband's family came from Minnesota. I became interested in Find-A-Grave a couple of years ago when to my surprise I found my grandmother's name. Once I discovered how easy it was to navigate through the website I was hooked. Many of the gravestones that I have posted are either my relatives or my husband's. This is a great way to memorialize someone and gives us amateur genealogists a way to create a record. I hope to continue adding names and perhaps my postings will help someone find the name of one of their ancestors posted here.

I am interested in the surnames Hauske, Chase, Cursons, and McMillen.

FYI - The gravestone photo for Arthur Nyberg (1924-2008) is incorrect. It is one for Kenneth J. Nyberg, who may be Arthur's son (I'm still researching this). Thanks for all your work on Find-A-Grave.
We did not add the photo on this memorial you need to contact the person who did put it in, their name is under the photo.

Mattie DeMars

Thanks again. I wonder what her first name was in Norway. Thank goodness she had a nickname, :)

Mattie Windedahl Houske DeMar

After sending a SAC regarding Mattie DeMar, I see that there is a biography and death certificate on memorial 71426397 for Mattie's son that has the correct maiden name.

The format still should be the same with the information about her marriage/marriages added to the biography. It appears that she married twice if the son's memorial info. is correct.

Thanks for understanding.

Henry Gilbertson
Thank you so much for doing this! Kari Viker Gilbertson was the one missing link from my great grandmother's (Olina Viker) family.

I think Henry's middle initial should be O, looking at the tombstone.

Hi Paula,
I found my grandma on this site and was wondering if you or your husband are related to her. I just recently decided to follow family history and realize that most of the people with information have passed away. I was just curious if there is a connection. Thank you so much for the nice page. I do have a picture of grandma we could put on. Have a great day. :)

I am not at home at the present time. I am in the hospital recovering from knee surgery. I would love to have a copy of any of the obits that you might have. That would be great. I will add them to any of the ones I have added to the cemeteries. Who knows maybe you have some for a few of my relatives in there too so I say yes to copies of the obits and Thank you so much.

RE: Lars Larsen Hauske
Hi Paula,
Thanks for getting back to me. I would really like to join as your guest! I can fill out alot of info on the paulson side of the tree. I called my grandma today after i emailed you to ask her some more questions.
Im reading the Pulson Family tree Book, and it says that after Lars Larsen Hauske died on feb 5, 1903, the family moved to towner north dakota in 1904, they lived there for about 3 years.

Alberta and the prairie provances were just opened up and many families from the north states moved up into canada, including part of the paulson family. Martha and a few of her children, including Art, moved into alberta, in the area of Lethbridge.

My grandma was born there in Lethbridge I think. She traveled across canada and ended up in Onterio, were my dad was born.
The family, now the Gagnon's, worked there way back west were my dad met my mom, in a small town in the interior of BC. They married and have 4 children, I am One of them, Jeff

I look forward to adding the Paulson/Gagnon info into the tree
