Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been interested in exploring and photographing cemeteries for several years. I thought i was just weird until I discovered other people with the same interests on websites devoted to cemetery art, and then on DeviantArt.
Another deviant directed me to this website and I find it WAY more interesting than Facebook. I also like to trace my genealogy and the original spelling of my surname is actually Lithuanian. I would be most interested in contact with anyone else researching that surname.

RE: Julius J Bauer
Sorry, I have no idea if Julius married, so I transferred the memorial to you. Now, when you discover your cousin's history, you can add it to his page.

Memorial #82057881 - Labbey
The Find A Grave section under FAQ, Membership/Signing In, “What is a photo request?” mentions: “Many cemetery offices will only provide that information (exact grave location to photograph a possible marker) to relatives of the deceased and will not assist photo volunteers with finding the grave location.”

There’s a reason more than 50 requests have not been realized for Woodlawn Cemetery in Green Bay, WI. I suggest you contact the office manager, Mary Lemirande, at (920) 432-6077 or email her at to learn the exact location of John Labbey, # 82057881, especially which Park (section) and names of individuals buried on each side (N,S,E,W) of your individual. Then, go back to your “Request A Photo” and add those “notes” so a photo volunteer can at least take a photo of the grassy plot if no marker is present. The cemetery does not usually have a record if or when a marker was placed at a grave site. Without the specifics, the only other suggestion I have is to remove your request. Thank you!

Lynn Gates
RE: Gates
The Eliza I am looking for would probably have her maiden name initialed. Eliza Stover Gates or Eliza Gates. She likely died in 1866, when the whole family was traveling by wagons from NY to Iowa. She disappeared along the way, as she was never listed in Iowa, only her husband, James Dayton and their 1 surviving son, (my great, great grandfather Alton) were listed in Iowa, but living with James' father, Roswell Gates. My cousin who was my GGGgrandfathers name sake, Roswell Sackett, also had a wife, Eliza Ann Keith Gates, who died in Hustisford, so that is NOT the one I am looking for. I had surmised that this Eliza Stover Gates had died along the way.. and figured it likely had to be WI, as there was family already established there who had relocated years earlier. I finally found some letters that made it on a digital library just weeks ago, confirming that they had to stop in WI with family because James wife (Eliza Stover Gates) was ailing and then passed away. So I am certain she was buried where other Gates' were, in Hustisford Cemetery. It would be so unlike my family to have not had a completely marked headstone and I do believe the "Gates" in that plot is in fact Eliza/Elizabeth S. Gates. I am sincerely hoping the marker has more than just the name of Gates on it. That is a long winded story.. I hope that helps. Were you able to locate that particular plot and any marker?

I so very much appreciate your help... I live in CA, HI and FL.. no where near there, and can't get up there for a good while yet to tour the cemetery myself.. so really your help means so much! Thank you! Lynn

RE: Gates
I'm not sure which you are talking about. I'm hoping you mean in Hustiford? I am trying desperately to find Eliza Gates. I inherited a memorial page that is only listed as Gates, rest unknown. So I don't know of the person who created the page didn't do anymore work or if that is all the information there is. It would be out of the ordinary for my family to have just left it at Gates on a marker. So I was hoping that there is something more on the headstone in that plot number.I'd be so grateful to know. I don't see a contact number so I could call to see if there are records that could help clear it up either.

RE: Arnold Bauer
Hi, I connected Arnold with his parents, but I believe you sent me the incorrect birth and death dates... these seem to be for someone else. His tombstone clearly shows the dates I have posted on his memorial page. Kind Regards.
