Hello. I am new to Find A Grave. I became interested in Ancestry research when my son, who was in 7th grade, had a "tree" project to do. I didn't know the names of my ancestors and I felt bad for him with all the blanks he had to turn in. At that time, I decided to document my family tree. The process is very humbling as I discover all the American pioneers that I am descended from. I have discovered photos of relatives that I would have never seen and it is very exciting. I want to provide others with that same excitement by volunteering to photograph headstones and thereby helping them to create their own family trees.|

|spvaughan||RE: A bit more on Richard and Jane Vaughan|
HI! Cousin!!! I have about 31 Byrd family members in my tree! I'm related to so many people in the various Tipton County cemeteries!
|spvaughan||A bit more on Richard and Jane Vaughan|
Richard & Jane died in Mar 1860 of pneumonia, sick 6 days. Mary (daughter) in Sept of "putrid" sore throat (probably tonsillitis), sick 18 days.
The above is from the US Federal Census Mortality Schedules 1850 1885
ie, if Jane died 10 March 1860, Richard Vaughan (husband) would be on or about the same date.
Family history has her maiden name as Montgomery (born in Tenn. according to the mortality schedule).
Richard shows born in VA.
Thomas "Tom" S Vaughan (still looking for data on him but don't think he was around by 1961)
Moses 'Mose' Shirley Vaughan -
1834 – 1912
Clarissa Vaughan -
Mary Vaughan -
1843 – 1860
Elizabeth A "Bet" Vaughan - Downing
Richard A Vaughan -

Don't mind me if I confused the issue but another cousin says Richard and Jane Vaughan both died in 1856 within a few days of each other...but I found a morality schedule that gives the dates of their deaths and their daughter's as I listed them.
Family lore says that Richard Dick Vaughan (Jane's husband), helped build the Mt Carmel Church. If the church is next to the cemetery, would there be any record of that? My assumption is that like house rearing, people in the community pitched in with land, building needs (lumber, nails, etc), and labor because church was important to them.
Again, thank you for your help!
Sandy Vaughan & cousins

Moses Shirley Vaughan, his father, Richard, his mother, Jane, are both buried there. You have photographed Jane Vaughan's grave (Death 10 Mar 1860 in Covington, Tipton Co, Tennessee, United States).
Her husband, Richard Dick Vaughan
Birth abt 1814 in Knoxville, Knox, Tennessee, United States
Death 24 Jul 1860 in Covington, Tipton, Tennessee, United States
is also buried there...I would think, close by; as would be their daughter,
Birth abt 1843 in Tipton Co, Tennessee, United States
Death Sep 1860 in Tipton Co, Tennessee, United States
Could you please take pictures of Richard's and Mary's graves as well and post them on findagrave for me?
Thank you every so much!
Sandy Vaughan who is working with 2 of her other Vaughan cousins to document our history.
My Aunt Jean is a Chapman. Jean was married to my Uncle Howard Listion. I was helping her by adding pictures to her relatives. I would love to see the pictures so I can show my aunt.
