Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is David and I live in Steilacoom, Washington (Near Tacoma). I retired in February 2009 and took up genealogy a few months later.

Our grand children live in Hanibal, Missouri. We visit there once or twice a year and I take photos in the cemeteries in that area.

When I visit a cemetery to fullfil requests, I often take pictures of other markers and add them to Find-A-Grave. If you would like me to transfer any of these to your management, please feel free to ask. I will be glad to if they are not part of our family.

The Find a Grave guidelines for Transfer Requests is as follows:

Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations, this would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not want to make the transfer. You may certainly request the transfer of memorials beyond the four generations, but the original contributor may choose not to transfer (the original contributor should make any corrections and add any additional information you have for that memorial, such as links to parents and spouses). Bulk surname requests should not be made.

Please note that it is considered bad form to request a transfer and then, after receiving the transfer, delete that page and substitute it with a new memorial that you have created. This practice denies credit to the original contributor. I have had it done to me.

Also, the goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it.

Use of Photos I have Taken: By this notice, you have my express written consent to use photos which I have taken for any non-comercial personal use that you see fit. You may post them to your personal family trees on any web-site. It would be nice if you would give me credit for the photo and say 'Used by Permission'. You may use them in any book you personaly are writing, but you must include source citation and 'Used by Permission". You may NOT post them to any other cemetery web-site. If you would like them added to such a web-site simply ask and I will probably do it for you.

David, thanks so much for your help with these memorials, I truly appreciate it! I'm also looking for Virginia's grandmother Virginia Magnolia "Maggie" Leonard Grantham, born around 1873, she may have remarried, but I don't know to whom. If you happened to find her, please let me know.

Carl Edwin VENZ
Thank you so much for locating and photographing the grave of Carl Edwin VENZ, my husband's 1st cousin 1X removed. Part of his family lost touch with one another after they left Ohio. We appreciate your taking the time to help families find lost relatives.

Wanted to find out about transferring management. My connection is with his first wife. Her name is Elenor "Nellie" Eaton. My husbands great grandmother is Ruth Gross KAUFFMAN.

Appreciate all your work. I just recently joined Find A Grave. Ancestry can only do so much. But now more relatives are asking for burial pictures. And no one is connected, which now I understand why. Volunteers have started the work, if family haven't done so. And, there is so much to do. Time is a precious commodity. Being connected is important, especially to my grandkids that want to learn about where we came from and the history. Again, thank you.

Wanted to thank you for posting some more photos for me. I made a memorial for Thomas Zupan's wife, Rosa. If you could post your photos on her memorial too that would be great! Here is the link:

Thanks again!
