RE: #72971816 - Edward West
Alrighty, I did a bit more research and have some specific answers, and one additional question. The garden at the West home on the corner of High Street and Mill Street was first used as a burial spot with the death of West's wife, Sarah Browne West. I do not see a memorial for his wife, so you might want to create one. Then, in January 1827, the good friend of William Edward West (son of Edward and an artist) and surrogate son to Edward West (silversmith and inventor), artist Asa Park, was also buried in the garden. When Edward West died (also in 1827), he was also buried in the garden. The three graves remained in this garden until 1834, when Edward's heirs sold the property and had their graves and markers moved to "the Presbyterian Churchyard" in Lexington. When this cemetery closed in 1899, all graves within the cemetery were moved to the Lexington Cemetery. So, you have the grave in the right location afterall! However, there is no mention in these records regarding whether the headstones made the journey from the Presbyterian churchyard to Lexington Cemetery. I also do not whether the burial records were maintained separately with this move. I've already created a memorial for Asa Park, and I will go ahead and move him to the records for Lexington Cemetery with this information added to the biography. Do you know if the cemetery has plot locations for these three on file? ~Evey

#72971816 - Edward West
Hello, I was wondering where you found the information that Edward West was buried in this cemetery. The information I have is that Edward, his wife, and a family friend were all buried in the garden of his house on High Street, and that they were moved at a later time to the cemetery at "the Presbyterian Church in Lexington"... Is this cemetery next to a Presbyterian Church?

Douglas Norvell
The correct cemetery is the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Douglas has a grave and a grave marker. The Honolulu Memorial is only the Tablets of the Missing. Not sure why findagrave seperated them, but if the 56127130 memorial was moved, I would be glad to delete mine. It is always better if family has the memorial...Let me know.

L Norvell Randall
There is a memorial in Bunkerville Cemetery for L Norvell Randall with dates listed as "Unknown".

Is this person part of your Norvell family? I'd be happy to transfer to your care if you'd like.

I know the original memorial creator was doing the best she could with the data she had to work with, and I am thankful that she took the time to create the thousands of memorials she did before she passed.

But I hate to see something like this, a memorial created and left unattended with unknown listed for the birth and death. I would so love to have all these memorials cared for by family members or dedicated researchers who can fill in those blanks with the deceased person's information.
