I live in Southwest Georgia. I have been involved in cemeteries since the mid 1980's. I am not related to most of the photos I take. So I will be glad to transfer to you, but please use the edit button to request a transfer or make any changes. This makes life easier for us. For your newbies, this gives us your ID number as well as the memorial number. If you are not a member of Find A Grave, then do not contact me with changes. I will only do changes using the EDIT button and you must be a member to make suggestions. If you are not a member, then there must be a valid reason why.

Also, I would greatly appreciate it if you would NOT leave a correction or request to add additional information to memorials on the message board below - it makes it much more difficult to perform these tasks, especially on multiple requests listed in one message. While this may be easier for you - it is not as easy for me.

RE: Hammack
Hi Brenda!

We've chatted before......I think. But it's been a while. Hubert's wife,Bertha Odessa Shiver Hammack was my 1st cousin 2x removed. She was my 2nd great grandmother's granddaughter. My e-mail address is genealogyrocks2me@gmail.com if you'd like to touch base and discuss the families.

Mistakes
That is correct. The census reports and census takers for those early years were not much help either. As a mater of fact the 1840 and earlier census reports were just about useless. For instance I was searching the 1840 Early County census report for our Bryan, which would be the last census report that he would be listed on (he died in 1847) and he does not exist on that report. There are four head of households for that family that would have been in his age range on that report but no Bryan. There is a Bryant in the correct age range but we know that our man is a Bryan because that is what is on his head stone, so unless the census taker gave him a 'T' at the end of his name he does not exist in Early County in 1840 and who knows if the census taker made that mistake or not, they made so many other mistakes.

Links
I agree with you about links to Memorial Pages that do not have a cemetery and a grave in that cemetery listed. After all this is Find A Grave. If they do not show a cemetery or specify cremation I am not going to link to them either, instead I am going to look for the cemetery and grave.

Links
Brenda, I have deleted the Bryan Memorial Page that I created and the link between your Bryan and Nancy remained. That is a good link because if you look closely at Nancy's headstone you will notice that it indicates that she is the wife of Bryan. As for someone's link to his parents I am not sure if they are correct or not because I don't even know who his parents are, YET. If you wish to transfer his or her Memorial pages to me I will be glad to maintain them for you and will also keep them accurate for you. Thanks Brenda.

Sorry, I just used the "edit" function to leave my message. How did it get to you?? I assumed it would go to the manager/originator? Maybe I hit by accident the photo tab? Thanks anyway.
