Bio Photo ==============

Despite what some of you may think, I do not intentionally "plaster misinformation" all over the memorials. I have researched most of the memorials I have submitted, trying to make sure the information is correct, looking for obituaries, census records, birth and death records. Sometimes I get it wrong, but I don't think that's very often. If you don't want information posted, don't send it to me. I have taken up posting the contributor number of those sending changes through email. If you don't want your number listed, don't send the change.

- When I started contributing to Find A Grave the following was listed under FAQs:

What are your naming conventions?
Naming conventions:
Unless the legal name contains a hyphen, punctuation, including the () and /, should not be included in the memorial name. Full capitalization (ALL-CAPS) of names should not be used, whether it be surname or the full name.

- I see that they have changed their FAQs to the following:

What are your naming conventions?
Naming conventions:
Unless the legal name contains a hyphen, punctuation, including the () and /, should not be included in the memorial name. Periods are to be used after initials, as in normal English. Full capitalization (ALL-CAPS) of names should not be used, whether it be surname or the full name. Suffixes and Prefixes do not belong in any name field.

- I am adhering to what was the convention on Find A Grave when I first checked FAQs.  Rather than change over 18,000 memorials, I will stick with the original rule.

I have received nasty messages from some who disagree with my choice of staying with the original convention. If you supply a middle name, this will solve your problem.

Grave Concerns at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery Newtown Manor

This report shows some additional headstones that were sadly discarded in a cemetery cleanup. Since then, efforts were made to put them back where they belong. It explains why my family member's stone was toppled and broken. She is listed as number 91 in the report. Her memorial is up-to-date on this site. I hope this helps someone.

Edit Requests
Thank you for the edit requests. They will be processed. Just a reminder, or in case you don't know, I thought you might like to know that I transfer out of guidelines. If you would like custody of any memorials I manage please submit an Edit request using the "Suggest any other correction or addition" option. If I am not related I will transfer. Thank you!

I appreciate the gravestone photos from the Fairfax area and especially the old news articles you have posted. These can be very helpful. Not all of us have them, even those of us with Genealogybank, Newsarchive, and other subscription services, since searching can be so hit-and-miss.

Laura Virginia Jackson Barr's Mother is Sarah Catherine Lawyer

Laura Virginia Jackson, born 1860 in Frederick County, VA to David Jackson has listed as her mother Mollie L. Jackson on her marriage record.
But in fact her mother's name is Sarah Catherine Lawyer.
David Jackson married Sarah Lawyer on Jan 12, 1858 and had three children. The last one, a Lewis E. Jackson was born in 1863 and since she died in October of 1863, she probably died due to complications of childbirth.

On the 1860 Federal Census for Frederick County, VA. David Jackson is listed along with his wife Sarah and two children. Robert and Laura V.

Mollie L. is probably Maria Louisa Smith, who David married in Jan of 1867.

Sorry for being long winded. Sarah Catherine Lawyer is from my son's side of the family.
