Your tombstone stands among the rest;|
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.
If anyone has an addition or correction to anything I have posted please contact me and I will quickly correct it. I am more than happy to turn over ownership to anyone who requests it. AND PLEASE IF YOU SEE THAT I HAVE ENTERED A NAME TWICE, PLEASE TELL ME ABOUT IT. It is easy to make a duplicate without realizing it.
Also -- another FindAGrave contributor wrote this... I think it says it all:
Please note: This is NOT a numbers game, Nor a "who has who" game here. Some of us are serious about getting names & photos of headstones that are not going to be around and making memorial pages. That is what this is about, making/recording that person lived and died. Like many, I spend long, long hours either in a cemetery, or adding memorial pages to Findagrave.com. I would love to see some of the headstones of family members that were in the 1700 & 1800 of my family, but that isn't going to happen as many are gone.
It doesn't matter who has the memorial page, the important thing is that someone cared enough to make a memorial page to honor that person and that is what findagrave.com is all about. Honoring the deceased, NOT who has what memorial or how many that they have. Thanks!

I really think it's another family. Too many discrepancies. But I still can't find any reliable sources about the people who are mentioned on this site. Only undocumented family trees on Ancestry.com.

I am not sure what to do now as I do not know on what sources the presently displayed information is based. Therefore, I am reticent to change it. This grave is of personal interest to me in regards to my own family history. I would be happy to share the sources on which I based my original comment.

I am asking if you would be so kind to transfer of the memorial of Mildred Caron Riddle #83174250 to my care and management. She was my paternal aunt who died in childbirth. Thank you.

Many thanks from me and anyone else researching the William and Rachael (Fitz) Randolph (they dropped the Fitz in this generation) family for changing the information in your memorial for their youngest son Lemuel (from Samuel) Randolph. That change should remove a good deal of frustration that any researchers going forward from William and Rachael forward in time through this child might face.

Hi! Yesterday I added the death certificate for Robert D Higgins, and the information on his mother Agnes Lillian GUTH Higgins. Robert father was Robert T Higgins born 1 Oct 1905 Cement City, Jackson, MI, USA died 4 Apr 1998 Jonesville, Hillsdale, MI, USA. I have not located his grave yet. On the 1940 Census record for Robert and Agnes Higgins, they have another son. John A Higgins born abt 1935. I have located a John A Higgins in Jonesville, MI, USA with birthdate of 17 Dec 1934. I am pretty sure this is Robert's brother John, since he was living in Jonesville with Robert senior. I tried to send you a private message in case you wanted, any of this information to add to your site. For some reason, I was not able to send the message private, so I decide to post this to public message for you. Hope it helps. If you would like more information, on Robert T Higgins drop me a note. Sincerely, Eileen
