Bio and Links
Bio Photo A farm wife in central PA, our family loves geocaching, which also take us to a variety of cemeteries.

I'm researching the lines of Aikey, Brown, Confer, Oberdorf, Lumbard, Sulouff, Truckenmiller, and two Smith lines. Most of our families are from Anthony Twp, and the Forrest Hill area of Union Co, all in Pennsylvania.

A facebook page for my genealogy research is here:

Thank you so much for the photograph of his grave. I am a member of the sAR and working on him as a Supplemental Patriot ancestor.

As a PIA genealogist I'd like to ask questions.

1) do you know what the American Flag at his tombstone represents?

2) Was his wife's grave near?

Again thank you. Happy New Year.

Thank you so much for taking the time to find this grave. Unfortunately, the picture showed up the first time I opened this email but has not come up again. Can you please send it to me again or tell me where I can find it!!

Jacob's Church Cemetery
My 3xs great-grandfather's stone is broken in half and I would like to replace it.
It is located in Jacob's Church Cemetery.
I know you have taken many photos of the stones there, do you have any information on a cemetery office or if there is a caretaker?

RE: Felix Ekas
Hi Heather,
I am not sure but I think you sent me the information on Felix, Polly and Lydia. I entered
it in comments under Polly. If it was you, I would like to give you credit for it. Please let me know.
Thanks, Carolyn

RE: Watsontown Cemetery PA
I just changed the name from "W" to William and link him to his parents Valentine/Sarah.
Thanks so much for the info,

Watsontown Cemetery PA
I have a printout of this cemetery that I made at a local historical society and am inputting the names after finding my 4x great grandmother's grave here. I saw that you had several of the Truckenmiller gravestones...but I found one more that is W.S. Truckenmiller died 26 September 1915. Not sure if he is Valentine/Sarah's son...perhaps his name is on the side/back of their gravestone...not sure. Thought I would let you know.
Good luck with your genealogy,

Samuel Loreman
Heather - Thank you so much for the photo of Samuel's headstone.
Yes it is definitely his stone!
I am planning on getting the stone replaced, as he is my 3tx greatgrandfather.

Can you read what it says on the very bottom of the stone?
I can read Jan 18, 1885
Aged 81 years, 8 mon & 24 d
The bottom line says To_D_ _ 13 Ch _11
It looks like a bible verse, but I can't make it out.
Maybe you can with the original photo.

Again Thank you so much!
If you are ever out at that cemetery again - please look for the Loreman headstones! There should be more.

Was Mary Polly Moyer a daughter to him? I was trying
to figure out her parents.

RE: Felix Ekas
Do you think that the women in the picture is
Lydia instead of Polly. My sister and I will have
to go check out the cemetery records of who
is buried with him. There is no head stone for him.
If you find any more info on them let me know.
He is my 2nd great grandfather. Are you related
to them?
