My interest in cemeteries began when I started working my geneology after my father passed away. Walking through cemeteries, looking for relatives, all became addictive! I see these headstones and wonder about the families, the lives they lived and about how many people that are looking for them just as I was looking for my own relatives. Hopefully, somebody will be helped by a name I added just as I was helped by others here.

If you see errors or have suggestions, please let me know.

Also, I abide by the FAG transfer rules. If you are a direct relative (by FAG definition), I will transfer. If not, I will consider on a case-by-case basis.

Thank you.

Hello Cindy,

Thank you for your fine work here! You add lots of detail which is fabulous. However, the above-named man was not married to Sallie Crowder. He was married to her daughter, Martha Moss, as you state on Sallie Crowder's page where you give details for Martha Moss. I'm sorry I can't furnish you with the FindaGrave numbers. I hope you can find these and make the correction.

Thanks again!

RE: Paul Hansen
Thank you and God bless you. I had several people contact me and said the property was sold and is now private. I have no clue how the name of the cemetery got on there. We didn't put it there unless it popped up as being in his location.
A couple have tried to get info Paul's family and trying to find an obit for me. One of them was able to connect with Paul's son and he did say Uncle Paul was cremated as well as his mother Dorothy but was skeptical about giving more info. hopefully he will contact us or I'll be able to locate his phone /address to contact him.
thank you again,
Cathy

RE: Allen Cemetery Jackson Co., TN
Cindy,

Thanks for the reply. After I contacted you I tried to contact Find A Grave. Apparently it is a very complicated process which had a page long list of instructions about making corrections. This involves GPS maps and lattitude and longitude numbers among other things. It is much more involved than what I feel able to correct. One can't just send them a message, it has to be done in a fix it thread on the discussion boards. Maybe this is why it has never been changed.

Like you, I have only been to one of the cemeteries. I was at the Allen-Anderson one on Blackburn's Fork Road. The last time I was there was in 2001 and I knew the sign you posted wasn't up at the time. I had thought that maybe it was added later, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Any way, thanks for your input. Maybe I'll try a different approach with Find A Grave.

Allen Cemetery Jackson Co., TN
Thank you for all the work you do to help others.

I'm not even sure if you are the one to contact, but you seem to have posted the most photos here so I thought I would start with you. The photo of the sign ALLEN CEMETERY is being used for the cemetery listed as Allen Cemetery off Hwy 53 in District 15 of Jackson Co.,TN This same photo of the sign is also being used for the cemetery listed as Allen-Anderson Cemetery off Blackburn's Fork Road in District 9 of Jackson Co.

Find A Grave has these two cemeteries shown with the same 34 entries and mapped with the same location. These are actually two different cemeteries. The location shown on the map is for the Rufus W Allen cemetery which was originally called Denton Cemetery.

The entries that include Denton, Allen, Walker, Moss, Purcell etc are in the cemetery with the Allen Sign. It is shown in Larry Mabry's book as Rufus W Allen Cemetery - Denton Cemetery.

The entries for mostly Anderson and Allen are in the Anderson and Allen Cemetery off Blackburn's Fork Road. This cemetery only has a green street marker type sign up that shows Allen-Anderson.

As I said I'm not sure you are the one to ask, but I can't figure out who originally posted these cemeteries. I can tell who put up the memorials, but not the cemeteries. Any ideas on how to correct these two and get the memorials in the proper cemetery would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help.
