Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in the Carytown section of Richmond, Virginia, USA, one time capital of the Confederate States of America. I grave the area of New Jersey to Georgia, looking for family burial sites.

And often while walking those cemeteries I'll see some neglected or damaged or sinking markers, so I tidy them up, take a picture and post it, feeling like I might be their last best chance to be remembered for some future researcher. We all have the same goal, we're working for posterity, and I think this data base has become a number-one stop for any serious family history researcher.

I'm a U.S. Navy veteran, Vietnam era, duty aboard the USS Canopus AS-34. I raised a family, but lost my wife. I made a career in newspaper production, am now retired, and enjoy volunteer gravestone photography.

The best way I've found to get a readable gravestone photo is to redirect sunlight to create shadows in the carved surface.

Anyone who wants to use my photos may do so, without any restriction, so help yourself. They have been posted here for you to use. And if you want a transfer, simply ask for it.

RE: Find A Grave Memorial # 25480432
I may be off on the wrong track altogether. The Pearl Jones I was looking for was probably younger by a few years and married to a Carl Jones, but they did belong to Ginter Park Presbyterian Church.

Say, why don't you just post it yourself, then I'll delete the one the cemetery sent me!

By the way, you'll get a chuckle from what I'm about to tell you. Seems there were two George W. Todd's. According to the lady at the VA, the other George was part of the NC outfit and he was a "dwarf" ... not our tall, handsome George! I can hear you laughing from here!

I went to Forest Lawn today to visit this grave and see if her husband was buried with her but the cemetery could not find a record of it. Do you have any sort of location to help me out.

Heads Up ... the marker has been installed. Looks good too! I received a photo from Hollywood Cemetery and posted it yesterday on Findagrave.
Cheers! Dennis.

The VA is making his headstone right now ... probably 4-5 weeks or so it will be ready for installation.

Percy and Carrie Joseph Hall
Thank you so much Rich, for the beautiful pictures you added to the memorial pages of Percy Burtell Hall and Carrie Joseph Hall. They are the great grand Aunt and Uncle to my children. I was honored to meet Aunt Carrie before her death. She was a very kind and gracious lady.

Thanks so much Rich. You are appreciated! Isn't it so sad we have so many unidentified, or unrecorded soldiers?!
