Bio and Links
Bio Photo Genealogy is one of my hobbies, the others being Jane Austen, movies, website design, and my job.

And, of course, I love visiting cemeteries and photographing headstones for people. There are some cool, out-of-the-way country cemeteries here in Mississippi, so it's sort of a road trip and a scavenger hunt rolled into one, and you can't beat the feeling of helping people!

If you are the friend or relative of anyone on a record I've added, I will be glad to transfer the admin/ownership over to you, so just let me know. I'm not here for the numbers.

Feel free to use any photo I've uploaded to this site for your family tree on Ancestry or wherever. You don't have to ask. Credit would be nice, but it's not like I'm going to go looking.

The link on my profile will take you to the genealogy site I maintain for my family.

In memory of my sister, Emma Louise Baldwin King (1988-2011), and my dad, Robert Barton Baldwin (1948-2015).

RE: Thomas Morton Goode, Palo Alto Cemetery
Dee Dee, Thanks for your reply. I had a great trick shown to me a couple of years ago while taking pictures of unreadable markers. On a bright sunny day have some one hold a large mirror such as a cheap vanity mirror beside the monument at an angle to shine the bright light reflected across the face of the tombstone from the side. This causes and depressions to remain dark. The marker can also be shaded from direct light from the sun enhancing the light cast from the side. One of my 2nd great grandfather's markers was badly eroded to the point of only a few readable letters. This trick did the job. The pictures were great with all being read plainly, even the scroll work and everything else.

Thomas Morton Goode, Palo Alto Cemetery
I see that you created the memorial for Thomas Morton Goode at Palo Alto Cemetery in Clay County, MS. This is a son of Robert Goode 1765-1848. This Robert Goode is one of my 5th great grandfathers. His son, Thomas Morton Goode, is a brother to my 3rd great grandfather, Robert Goode 1816-1887, buried at Union Hill Cemetery, Jefferson County, Alabama. I've looked for the elder Robert Goode's burial for years and as yet, not found. I suspect he could be at Palo Alto as he moved to that area prior to or during 1841 from Jefferson County, Alabama. The Thomas Morton Goode buried at Palo Alto moved to that area after 1842 as his daughter, Mary A. Goode was born 1842 In Jefferson County, AL and his son Charles Augustus Goode was born at Palo Alto, Ms 1844. Is there a possibility Robert Goode 1765-1848 is buried near the other Goode family at Palo Alto Cemetery. I noticed all the photos of markers at Palo Alto is not completed. please advise.
