My name is Rita June Collvins Mayfield. I was born February 20, 1942 in Jackson County, Oklahoma. I married Vernon Roy Mayfield on April 16, 1971. My primary hobbies are gardening, oil painting, genealogy and of course cemeteries. There is something comforting about strolling through the cemetery and reading the stones. I have recently moved to Cordell, Oklahoma, but have lived in Oklahoma most of my life. Once an Okie, always an Okie. I am slowly trying to get all my family memorialized here. My virtual cemeteries represent my family, unless otherwise noted. I am going to make them public once again, and hope I can leave them without the misuse that occurred previously.|
If I have a memorial that is anyone in your family, and is unrelated to me or my husband, I will be glad to hand it over to you as I don't adhere to the 4 generation only guideline, just contact me. I count it a joy and a job well done if I am able to pass on your loved one to you. It is my number two reason for doing this, second only to wishing to save all the old and battered stones from being lost forever. If you find errors on any of the information on my memorials, please get in touch with me with corrections. You are welcome to use my tombstone photos on your family files and family trees, just note where you got it.
Please don't post death certificates or census reports in the picture area on my memorials. They don't belong there and are detrimental to the looks of the memorial, plus it takes up room where photos could be placed.

If I ever posted a memorial of anyones family all they would have to do is ask for a transfer, just saying

Yes Rita, feel free to use them. Thanks for all your work on Find A Grave also.

I have left an edit on your memorial for Thomas Carpenter, the son of Peter (Hairy Peter) Carpenter. If you look at the dates of the Peter Carpenter that you linked Thomas to, you will see that the dates will not work. The link that you have for his mother is correct. The Revolutionary War Peter (Hairy) Carpenter (Zimmerman) is buried at Old Beaverdam, Gaston County, NC, which was originally Lincoln County, NC.

Since you are connected to Mr Lay by family and have a great deal of information about him I am transferring his Memorial so you can properly display the information on him that you desire.

Find A Grave Memorial# 114641148
hello, I'm researching the Vineyard and Purdy family line. Just wondering if it's possible that their be a William Talber Vineyard buried at the Vineyard's cemetery at some time. He died abt 1858. Leaving his wife, Elizabeth Sharp Vineyard and 7 to 10 children. Some family trees state that Elizabeth died in Knox co. TN, but I have not been able to verify that. She is in all the census up to 1880 and we know what happen to the 1890 census. The 1850 census is the only census with William listed along with his birth year and place of Virginia. He and Elizabeth were married in 1844 in Knox county, TN that may be why she and some of the children had return there by the 1900 census. I have John Lee Vineyard (son) marring Lydia Jane Purdy about 1901 in Oregon. This is his 2nd marriage. He also was married to Lydia's cousin, Rebecca Purdy.
Hope you can be of some help.

Keeping this family together is terrific. I had hesitated to request these. Did not want to appear to be just hoarding other members efforts. Again, Thank you for your time and even more thanks creating these memorials.

I do so much appreciate the very very quick response to my request for transfer. I have upgraded these memorials with information. Also have just sent requests to update Lillie Ball, their daughter. I wish to thank you for the transfers and for updating the memorial for Lillie when time allows. This also much appreciated.

You are right. If I had checked the birth and death dates I would have caught it. Usually I do, but of course when I don't that is when I make a mistake.
Well guess I will look for my Edna again. Thank you, glad you caught it.
