|Dale Safford||headstone for Ed Hughes in Stambaugh, Michigan|
I have just fulfilled your headstone request for Edward Hughes. I have access to the master records for Stambaugh Cemetery, and he is on the record but has no headstone. The record says: Ed R. Hughes, buried Dec 16 1919, age 67, died in Stambaugh, cause: falling of chute in mine. No location is given for where in the cemetery his burial is located. I would get you more information about his death, but the newspapers for this time period were THROWN AWAY long ago but someone at the newspaper office. I have access to records from one of the local funeral homes which would cover 1919 and did basically cover Stambaugh, but he is not listed so must have been buried from a different funeral home which has no old records.
P.S. When you made the entry onto FindAGrave, it went on there twice, so you should delete the one without the "no headstone" photo. Also "daughter" needs to be spelled correctly. I have also linked him to his daughter.

When you come again to Iron River, I'll be glad to go to the cemetery with you and show where your relatives are buried. Feb would not have been a good time to look! :-)
