Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hi,

We just enjoy walking the cemeteries doing our part to save a little bit of history, and to help provide an additional genealogical research tool for others. We are presently living in New Orleans, LA.

We want to assure everyone we NEVER clean stones, this can cause permanent damage if using the wrong method or cleaner.

We may move small items like flowers or statues from headstones so the information is visible, we take the utmost care and ALWAYS put them back exactly where we found them after the photo is taken.

We do a "light" sweep to remove leaves and grass so your photo is of family web page quality.

Sadly there are fire ants that we have to contend with in some cemeteries so we try to remove the sand and photograph before the ants come streaming out.

If there is a living birth date on the double stones we blur this information out for the protection of the living.

Later in years, as we progressed in our headstone photography adventures, we learned to shade stones, or use a car windshield reflector (foil type) to add light, if they are in partial shade to give a more even photograph, and other tricks but we do apologize for any substandard photos during the early years when we were still learning. I have added many photos to other people's submissions, particularly where I felt that the stone was in better condition back when we photographed it years ago.

If you see any errors in the information I have posted with the photographs please do not hesitate to contact me. If the photo is on a web page that someone else is maintaining (unless it is a caption under a photograph that I submitted), you have to contact them because I cannot change their information.

If you wish to use any of our photos for your personal web pages or family books you have our permission, if you could site the source that would be appreciated. They may NOT be used to sell or repost to other public web sites without prior permission and providing source.

I have no problem transferring memorials. I do although REQUIRE you request the transfer correctly.

Go the memorial you wish to have transferred to you. Click on the "edit" button, go to "suggestions or additions" request the transfer AND put your member number.

If you don't...I won't.

I want to make you happy but I am busy with posting photos and the more time I take to do a request the less time I can post more photos. I answer usually in a day if I am not out of town.

Thank you so much.

Happy hunting
Bushy & Mike Hartman

Thank you!
I cannot tell you how excited I was to stumble across your photos of the Huguenot tombs in St. Roch Cemetery. I never knew I had ancestors here in my beloved adopted city! Many thanks to you!

Thank you for the information. I will pass it on. The folks are fairly certain that is where Samuel is buried. Hope they are able to uncover the mystery! Thanks again for all your efforts!

Thanks so much for all the information! You do great work! Sorry this has been a pain...but it has definitely proved an interesting puzzle. I was working on it for some friends in Sugartown. I think I will let them figure out the rest of the story. What library were you speaking they have a website or phone number to call? I did spend the day attempting to figure out how Eliza fit in with the rest of the names. I failed! But I did sort the rest of the family...or most of them and have linked and added other data that I found. But is a mystery. Wonder why the two stones and how they chose to decide who got associated with who. Life can be interesting! There seem to be some interesting characters.

RE: Different cemetery
Thank you so much for both your comments - I am sorry it didn't work out for my Johan Enes but I can't thank you enough for trying to help, that does mean a lot to me! Sometimes I wonder if there might have been a common grave for some that died in the yellow fever epidemic - Johan came here, to NO, in Sseptember 1852 so was here less than a year when he died and maybe they didn't have much money. It's sad we don't know, but at least he is alive in mine & my relatives family history.

Also my condolences on losing your precious Pearly Girl - I lost my precious Killian in July 2010. I transcribe for a genealogical society and when I'd spread out everything on the floor to double check my work Killian would come and lie down on it to help me proof it ;)

Thanks again,
