After my mom passed away in Jan. of 2008, I became interested in learning our family history. I wish I had taken my dad's advice, years ago, to write down the information he'd given me. (As one grows older, memory gets poor.)
Armed with curiosity, determination, a computer and a few remembered names, I was able to begin my search and have traced the Morgan family back the 1700's. This search also revealed some French ancestors in the 1500's.

 | John Reuben Morgan II Just a quick check on the cemetery where he is listed to have been buried ... if he died in Morgan County, is there a reason he would have been buried in Monroe County (quite some distance away)? I am willing to go on a search if you can confirm this. Thank you. | | | Jack Roberts

 | RE: John A. Welch I'm glad that I (accidently) found those dates for you. I'll keep looking and if find anything, I'll let you know. I'm looking for someone in the Lebanon cemetery and thought I'd add anything extra that I could find.

 | RE: transfer After I check my photos against Findagrave and the cemetery index, Lillian was the only one that was not entered. Hope this helps your research.

 | RE: Harper in Ebenezer You are most welcome :-) The church that owns the cemetery is still an active functioning church and the cemetery is still in active use. Perhaps they keep good records. If you contact them and get info on where they might be interred, feel free to get in touch with me at mskeillor@gmail.com and I'll be happy to return to the cemetery to photograph the plots. Regards, m | | | Maureen Keillor
 | Harper in Ebenezer Hi Louise,
My husband and I walked through Ebenezer United Methodist Church cemetery Friday evening and weren't able to locate Sarah Morgan's headstone, nor did we find any other Morgans. The cemetery is very well kept and is still in current use, although there are many field stones and graves that are marked with slabs of stone walls. I am going to email you a couple of photographs I took of some. | | | Jack Roberts
