I guess I was about 7 or 8 yrs old when I first remember my dad taking me to cemeteries to trace our roots. Now I am an addict to genealogy and cemetery hunting!!! (I think it is from the Mingo Swamp water!!) So if you need something from Stoddard Co., MO, I will do what I can.|
This is a wonderful website it has helped me leaps and bounds in my personal genealogy quest!
I like to transcribe entire cemeteries so loved ones can be found, mine & yours. So most of the memorials I post I am not related to. If you see a relative or someone close to you that I have posted & wish to manage there memorial, please just holler & I can transfer it to you as long as I am not related.
I have posted many photos on this site & anyone may use them for there family tree. If you make a million off one of them, please at least buy me dinner.
If you see a mistake or just have more info just leave me a message or E-Mail me. I will be happy to add the info for any additions or corrections.
A question has been asked several times here lately. "Why do you put 'Bio Info Courtesy of' & link that person to the info?" Well I like to keep track of my sources & who sent me what for whom. Also it gives that person the credit for all the hard work they have done. If you do not want your name attached to a memorial that you have given me info on, please just tell me & I will not attach it.
Please do not get upset if I do not answer your messages & e-mails right away. I get anywhere from 25 to 75 messages & e-mails everyday. I try to answer them all quickly but some take longer than others, but I will get to them!! Currently I am working on messages, requests & transfers from Oct 2012.
Happy Hunting !!

Hello Brent - nice to meet you - I like your biography a lot. You are so right this genealogy and cemetery picture taking gets into your blood. I just finished up taking pictures at Fairmount Cemetery here in Cape Girardeau which took about a year (over 6,000) but that wasn't good enough for some reason. I decided to take on New Lorimier Cemetery. I have run across several pictures you have taken and think that is wonderful - less work for me. Your pictures are great. Now for the reason I wrote - I found dates for your page for Maria Juden - she was born 1822 and died June 5, 1897. I will send them via the edit tab there but thought you might like to know. All Cape City cemetery burials are now on line - if you go to Cape Parks and Recreation and scroll down to the bottom it will say "cemeteries" Then you click on the one you want. You probably already knew this but I thought it might help you some day.
Thanks again for all your work. From a fellow picture taker: Ruth

I just wanted to thank you for posting photos to my Fields family member's gravesites.
I truly appreciate all your hard work.
|Debbie Horst||Sterling Johnson|
Hello, I have a Sterling Johnson in my family tree and was trying to decide if it's the same one that you have on find a grave. The one I'm looking for was married to Margaret Henson and had a son named Sterling Johnson Jr. They lived in Stoddard County also. Are you related? Would appreciate any help. Debbie Horst

I can't help you with place of buriel, but John was living in Equality Village, Galatin Co. Il. in 1880. Age 11 months. Father was Chas. Anderson, age 25, mother Lucy A. Mitchell/ Anderson. Age 25. They were living with Lucy's mother, Fanny Mitchell age 61. Maybe the added names will ring a bell for some one. God luck.

Hello, I have submitted some edits from the new edit tabs (you will find the edits to be accepted in the upper right part next to Contributor tools). I was hoping you would be able to accept the changes for my cousins' (Martha and Infant Sinks) memorials. Thank you.

Would it be possible to have my grandpas memorial transferred to me? My contributor number is #46918700.

WOW I am just blown away by all you have done for FG. Amazing!
Here is a link to my uncle Art which should be quite familiar to you:
He was the 3rd husband of my Aunt Augusta Bowers Ellerbrook Sutton Johnson Shackleford.
He is said to have been buried at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery IN BELL CITY.
Here is a link to the obit for my aunt, which says the Pleasant Grove Cemetery NEAR ADVANCE:
Except I was that there are at least two Pleasant Grove Cemeteries in Stoddard county alone... (and nearly a hundred in MO)... but none all that close to Advance!
I finally tracked down her grave by calling the mortuary. It is the same Pleasant Grove as for Rev Johnson, (husband #3), but it has a mailing / Google address of the Pleasant Grove Cemetery IN PIKE, MO!!!
BUT apparently all three are the same cemetery, sort of somewhere in a triage between Advance, Pike and Bell City, nestled in a curve of Stoddard Co Road # 307, south of 91 and east of 25...
And it turns out that I'll bet you have been there several times!!!
I spoke to a board member of the cemetery and she is certain that my Aunt Augusta Bowers Ellerbrook Sutton Johnson Shackleford is buried there, because my aunt's grave is near her family's graves, but the mystery #1 is that Aunt Augusta is not listed on the FG 'see all internments' list. (If that really was a complete list, perhaps it was done before her death.)
And mystery #2 is that I cannot find any data on the death or burial of her last husband, Walter Shackleford UN-verified dod: May 28, 1993. Since he was from that area, and she met him while living in Bloomfield or Dexter... there is a chance that he is buried in that same cemetery, (or he could have been sent elsewhere to be with other family, to nobody-knows-where).
So the next time you are in that neighborhood, I would soooo much appreciate it if you could at least verify Aunt Augusta's burial there, and ask if Walter Shackleford is there also... and I shall be forever indebted to you if you could get headstone photos for Augusta, Walter, and Arthur.
I am new and have never started a memorial, so it would be so nice if you could plueeeze set up FG memorials for Augusta (and Walter if you find him there), and then transfer them to me and I'll fill in the details.
(The memorial linked above for Rev Johnson which you set up, is already being maintained by wife of a child or grandchild from Rev Art's 1st marriage.)
Thanks ever so much for all you have done.
