Frank L Buell
We are doing family history and my father-in-laws father disappeared back in the early 1900's and we have never located him or where he went. I see a finding for his death record as listed below:

Birth: unknown

Burial:
Belcrest Memorial Park
Salem
Marion County
Oregon, USA

Find A Grave Memorial# 49235096

Can you please let me know if this could be our relative. His name was Frank Lincoln Buell 1st born on Nov. 16, 1863 in Hyde Park, MN.
He disappeared from Spokane, WA and was married with 3 children at that time. Any information you can give to us would be helpful.
Thanking you
Beverly Buell

RE: Geiger - St Johns vs Greenwood
I'm not positive if "all" are combined, but I do know that these Geiger's are, and many more buried in Greenwood that are on St John's list. I was told by a groundskeeper at St. John's that many times he had to show visitors the way to Greenwood, because they believed burials to be in St. John's. Comparing St. John's burial list with my photos was when I first realized the mixed burials. I could not find several markers until I searched Greenwood. I have deleted several memorials.

Re: My Family Memorials
I just got off the phone with the Belcrest Memorial park. Two Emails, three phone calls.

Ms. Porter was very gracious with her time. She verified that Francis, Derek, Della, & Walter were my family, as we compared death dates and other data. She verified that my Grandmother Bernice is not the Bernice buried there. The Bernice buried there was married to Fred Smith and is resting next to him.

Ms. Porter went through all of her records for Grandmother Bernices' death date and burial date and all of the lot information. She is not at Belcrest.

I would very much appreciate your transferring the other four graves to me. Again, thank you so much for creating their memorials. I really appreciate it.

Thanks, Kathy

RE: My Family Memorials
Lady Dragon,

I apologize, I was out of sorts when I wrote the Message to you.

I was thinking of the old Pioneer Cemetery and the Abbey next door. I have found so many graves from my Father's side there. When I come home, I always visit.

I had not found the graves for my Mother's side. I was thinking that they were in the same place, though I had visited the office and ask for various family members many times.

I have since found that there are several members of my Mother's family buried at Belcrest. I will make it a mission to see their graves the next time I am in Oregon.

Bernice H Smith 58024656 (Maternal Grandmother)
Francis W Smith 58024725 (Maternal Grandfather)
Derek M Smith 58024682 (1st cousin, died young)
Della M Smith 58024681 (Maternal Great Grandmother)
Walter H Smith 58024891 (2nd Maternal Great Grandfather. 1st abandoned the family and has not been found - Suppose that is best.)

You have recorded all of them. I am so very thankful for the work that you do.

Thank you, Kathy óż

I apologize, I should have checked for my maternal Grandfather before writing to you about Grandmother (Bernice Smith).

I believe this is my Grandfather, in fact, quite certain. His name is correct and as I mentioned previously, many of my family are buried in the Abbey and the adjoining cemetery. Grandfather passed 28 May 1986. He had re-married many years before and so was no longer married to Grandmother Bernice.

If you have no further information, I will be happy to request it from the Cemetary for verification. As before, once confirmed, I would request the gravesite be transferred to me so that I can maintain it and add family links and obits.

Thank you, Kathy Dockler (Harra)

Bernice Smith
Good Day,

My maternal Grandmother was named Bernice Elizabeth Smith (Neff). She passed away 25 Aug 1983. Her services were 30 Aug 1983.

I have never found her Memorial. I wonder if the one that you have listed for Bernice H Smith, at Belcrest Memorial Park is actually my Grandmother. I have many other family members buried at that same Abbey and adjoining graveyard, mostly in the names Harra, Hinton, Stoltenberg, and their married names. I have requested transfers of those graves also.

I can contact them to find out more information, if you do not have it yourself. I am interested in having her transferred to me if it is her.

Thank you very much, Kathy Dockler (Harra)
