We started out just two guys who have an interest in genealogy and old things.
One of us (Eric) has relatives at Multnomah Park, the other (David) is repaying a debt to genealogists who supplied him with a huge amount of information from Sweden.
We have listed most of the graves in this large public cemetery, which contains over 12,000 residents. We have not, and probably will not, list the most recent burials in the cemetery because of privacy concerns. The 'death' dates for people may be their burial dates. We are working off Metro's data base which gives the burial date of the deceased up until the 1970's.

The data base supplied to us by Metro, the current managing agency for Multnomah Park, has a lot amount of unknowns, and that's where the X's come in. IF you see an "X" in the plot information it means it is unknown in the data base that we have nearly finished transcribing and entering for all people to see and use. Note that Metro inherited the records from another agency who inherited them from a previous owner, who in turn inherited them from previous owners.

Check out Metro's webpage for Multnomah Park Cemetery:

If you have any information on any of the residents of Multnomah Park, please use the new correction on FindAGrave to let us know. It is much quicker and easier for us - and will get done sooner than the 'old' way.

Please make sure you have the right person, not just a person with the same name.

We have added some people to the Multnomah Park Cemetery online FAG database even though they do not appear in the online Metro Pioneer cemeteries database. We have done so because their death certificate and/or Oregonian funeral notice indicates they were buried there. The burial location will be noted as: "unknown - does not appear in cemetery records." These people may be buried elsewhere. We don't know, and the death certificate information is not always reliable.

We are making periodic trips to the state archives in Salem to make copies of Death Certificates. We do update information with data from the various death certificates - when we have the time. We have, but generally do not post the certificates on FAG. If you would like one please inquire. Driving an hour to Salem to copy documents in the state archives is beyond what is a normal volunteer activity - especially with the price of gas.

Thank you, David and Eric.

I cannot thank you enough for the information about my great great grandparents!
Our family has been in Idaho for five generations now. To learn the whereabouts of our ancestors' resting place, even to the exact location of their graves, is very gratifying. I have a daughter living in Portland who is anxious to find them in the cemetery. To my knowledge, it may be the first time a descendant has visited their graves in all those years.
May God bless you for your kindness in serving so many people unknown to you.
Sincere Thanks,

9/3/2015: Dear INvenio: Did I understand that you have the old burial record book for Mult. Park cementery, on S. E. 82nd & Holgate?? I'm looking for a father and son, that are in the second or third row from 82nd. I don't think they have stones? Would like to know their dates & places;
The father, Efim/Mikey/Mickie, Nicoloff, Nikoloff, or Nicholoff, was abt. 30-35 years old when he died,
in Oregon someplace, probably the industrial area;
He was bn. 7/April/1887, in Chita, Russia, according to his 1917--1918 Draft Card. I've seen the death record and news clipping years ago, when he worked at the Shipyards, for Northwest Steel, in west Portland, and died from a hot electric wire. His son,Vladimere/Walter, bn in San Fran,CA;
about 1912, and died about 1914--1916, in Portland,OR, as a result of being hit by a large truck, on S.W. Hooker & Barber Blvd. There was a death certificate and news article I saw of this, a long time ago,too. I printed out the plot map from the metro site. The wife/mother is their, too. She was Vera Williams, who died in 1940; Another son/brother, Alex/Allan, born, 1910, in Kapaa, Kaauai, Hawaii, died near Aberdeen or Cosmopolis, Washington in the Grays Harbor County, drown while fishing with another young child who, died, too. He was one month from his 8th birthday,(8/1918) and the other boy was only 5 years old. I'm a member of the Oregon Archives, here in Salem, if we can share or trade our findings??? We can help each other if possible. Let me know what you know that can help both of us. Please contact me with any names,
dates, places, or where I might go to get more facts, if you can. Thank you for any help.

Thank both of you so very much for all you do for others through this work with Find A Grave. I have been on my genealogy journey since the 1980's and because of age and health can no longer visit cemeteries. It means a lot to me to see the graves and markers. I hope you won't mind my making copies of your photos for my family files. I am fighting so hard trying to get all of my family history verified and on Ancestry and Family Tree Maker so that my descendants and others who may be connected may be able to see their heritage. It is a continuing effort to verify the things that I already have on my file. God bless you both in every effort you make to help others. I hope everybody appreciates you as much as I do.

Hi Guys,

Someone has uploaded 5 incorrect photos of grave memorials to her posting. I have left him a public message requesting that these be removed so I can upload the correct one. I have no idea what this guy was doing, uploading the Palmers that he could find?
