Update 7-15-2012: Life happened and I got very behind on updating and transfer requests. I am SO very sorry and I'm currently working to get back up-to-date. If you've sent me a request for an update or transfer, I WILL get to it. If you can't wait until I catch up - drop me an email and I'll make it a priority. Again, I'm very sorry for the delay. |
I am researching several names:
My dad's family:
Jensen, Reed, Ogden & Farnes
Wisconsin, Michigan, Utah
My biological father's family:
Phillips, Norris, Iverson, Wallack, Ide, Van Valin, Verveelen, Ver Valen, Van Valey, Blauvelt, Riker, Ryker, Chatfield. Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, New Jersey, New York, Holland and Norway.
My grandmother's family:
Miller, Lake (Leja), Huiras & Schumacher
Germany, Poland, Minnesota & Wisconsin
My grandfather's family:
Kohler, Burbadge & Hemmelgarn
My children's family:
Greece & Pennsylvania
My husband's family:
With any findagrave memorial that I maintain, if you are a relative, and I am not - I would be happy to make the transfer. If I have no connection, and you have some connection - I will transfer. Send a transfer request using the "Suggest a Correction" link under the "Edit" tab on the memorial page. Send a request for each memorial that you want, and please be patient - I will transfer, but it may take a few days. I am happy to make any addition, correction, link that you suggest - please use the "Suggest a Correction" link and I'll get to as soon as I can. If we are both relatives - I will transfer within the scope of FAG guidelines (ie. within 4 generations) at my discretion. I do not transfer direct relatives anymore - I've been burned by this far too often. I also do not transfer to people who obviously are "collecting names" - so don't even ask. Do not request transfer if you are not willing to maintain the memorial - PLEASE.
The majority of the memorials that I maintain for those related to me (blood or marriage) list my familiar relationship in the comments. (Not all, but most.) I do this for several reasons - mainly as a way to pay my respect but also as "cousin bait" ... I would LOVE to share trees and photos with anyone having a connection. Feel free to contact me at email@example.com or Kellie Jensen Walton on facebook.
Please feel free to use my images for your genealogy project - both online and off. Credit is appreciated.
If we are related, please say hi!
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
on polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care,
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I'd exist,
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
one hundred years ago -
Spreads out among the ones you left
who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
and come to visit you.
A few additional things about my memorials:
* If I am in a cemetery photographing my family grave markers - if time allows, I often photograph other stones in the cemetery. This doesn't mean I have any further information on the person other than what is posted - but often I will look up that person on ancestry or footnote to verify a dob, dod or familiar connection. All information I obtain will be posted - that is all I have, but hopefully it is useful.
* Sometimes I will post a photo of a grave that already has a photo posted - this isn't an error. It's usually because my photograph is clearer, has additional information or is what *I* deem more genealogically (is that even a word?) "worthy". Basically, it's just the photo I prefer. It's not done to offend the person who took the first photo - I assure you. Another reason I may an additional photo in a memorial is because when a memorial starts to deteriorate - the entire look of the memorial can change very quickly - I think it's important to see an accurate representation of what a stone looks like "today" ... or as close to today as possible.
*When I photograph a cemetery - I will always do my best to find a transcribed roster or listing which I will post. This CAN and DOES lead to duplicates ... it happens, no one is perfect. If I've made a mistake, duplicate or omission - I can promise I didn't do so intentionally. Please let me know, but understand I will not respond to a nasty accusatory email. Either be nice - or don't be at all.

Can you please move Henrietta Lins to Oak Knoll Cemetery in Eagle, WI. I took some photos there tonight and she is on the other side of the street from where you have her. Thank you very much.

Kelli are you related to the Babcock's. I was wondering if you know where Albert Arther 'Bert' Babcocks parents are buried. They are Henry E Babcock and Marion E Doane Babcock. If you are not related can you transfer the Babcocks to me after i send the request. Thanks for your help. Dottie

Hello again, Kellie
Wow, I noticed you added another memorial, my dad's cousin Wallace Walter (#61176314) in the Sugar Creek Cemetery. Likewise, I have much added info and would be happy to manage his memorial, as well. Thank you, again - your work is much appreciated!

I see that you are managing the grave for Grace E. Bratrude (#61018545) in the Union Cemetery in Walworth County. I don't know if you are related to her, but she was my grandfather's sister-in-law and I have quite a bit of information for her. I would be happy to take over management and update her connections. Thank you for all you do!
