Peter Werneth
Good evening,

What can you tell me about Peter Werneth who is buried in the Magnolia Cemetery? I am looking for information on a possible wife Emma Lou Frier who was born around 1918. He was considerably older and she died one year after him. Would love to chat.

Thank you,
Sheila

RE: Teresa & Sophia Werneth
Sort of like New Orleans where they shake the bones down to mingle with your ancestors. I always thought that was a nice idea and a much more efficient use of space. Thanks for your reply. I'll try the Mobile Courthouse, but they didn't start keeping death records until 1905, so wish me luck. Bobbye

Teresa & Sophia Werneth
Brother Xavier,
Teresa is my second great grandmother and Sophia, my third. She is buried in Magnolia Cemetery, but her tombstones have been moved on top of her husband's, William Henry Williams. As you know, Magnolia is sinking. Her daughter, Sophia Williams, is buried in the same plot, right across the street from the Werneth plot.

I have never been sure of Sophia's maiden name. I have seen both Rhodes and Roth(e). Do you have any idea who her parents were, did they immigrate with her, when did she come over? I would apprectiate any information you might have. I, too, have been confused by the two death dates, but assume that it was because she died in Pensacola and had to be shipped back to Mobile. She was living with her daughter, Amalie Kelly, at the time of her death, my grandmother's "Aunt Molly". Bobbye Olney Carroll

Theresa Werneth Williams
I am working on Magnolia Cemetery in Mobile and I recently added a memorial for Theresa A. Werneth Williams (FG# 96211377), born 1851, died 1904, wife of William Henry Williams, married 1871 in Mobile. She was living with Martin & Sophia Werneth in Mobile in the 1860 census. I linked her to them as her parents. I was hoping you could confirm this relationship. Also, since you have most or all of the Werneth memorials in Magnolia Cemetery, I wanted to offer to transfer her memorial to you, especially if she is part of your family.

Clement Minor
Thank you Brother Werneth for posting the pictures of my great(x8) grandfather, Clement Minor's tombstone! It was a delight for me to see where he was buried. I so appreciate your time and effort in making sure that these pictures were available for his descendants to view.
