I wonder if amongst your extensive and excellent work you have any information on the Rabls living in Lower Austria prior to WWII? I saw you had posted an obit for Alfred Rabl who is of some interest to me. I am descended from the Jewish Rabl Family of Kardasova Recice most of whom died in the Holocaust, and am researching Rabl relatives who may have avoided persecution by converting to Christianity following pogr0ms of the 19thC. On a separate note, I am also distantly related to the Bohemian Taussigs and wonder if you managed to help the descendant of Olga Taussig who was in correspondence with you. Bless you for your good work. Nik Rabl-Radcliffe

|Dorie||RE: Hello from Austria !|
Thank you so much for your reply and additional research. I know that there is very little out there. Olga's daughter (my grandmother) married my grandfather (who was French) and was living in France with my mother during the war and she did not have much information about what was going on with her family throughout the war. After the war she had received some notification of an inheritance of pine forests (that's what I have been told) but she could not go back for several reasons. I know that after the war, she wasn't able to get any of her own birth records because they had all been destroyed. They eventually moved to the US in the 50's.
We have limited access to Czech documents here (it's slowly growing, although I don't speak Czeck anyway!), so your memorials have provided a thread to pursue and research! I'm really excited to see if I can find anything with some of these names on it, so I really appreciate you posting them.
Thank you again!
