Bio and Links
Bio Photo There is only one tragedy worse than the burial of a fallen hero in an unknown grave. Some heroes are known at the time of interment, but due to erosion and neglect, become unknown at a later date. We cannot permit this to occur.

Legible headstones are best. Next best are precise GPS coordinates, taken at the center of the grave.

Frank McCutcheon
Frank G McCutcheon Find A Grave #130319990 Your Note: Civil War Veteran, Union Army: CO H, 12TH US INF

Frank wasn't born till 1872. I don't think this would be information for him. It may be for his father but I don't see a memorial for any other Frank McCutcheon.

You have done a lot of really good research. Thank You for all the updates and please keep them coming. All information is greatly appreciated.

Information on 125 PVI
Hello Donald,

I have some information that you may find very helpful concerning the 125th PVI. I too have a vested interest in this regiment and would enjoy sharing what I have with you. Please contact me via email to discuss.

Best regards,

RE: Geo Mauk (Mank)
Mr. Coho,

It does all point in the direction of "Mauk", doesn't it!

Annetta is in the PA deaths too, indexed as "Armetta Williams." The informant was her husband, and the maiden name here is "Mock."

Do a search in "Public Member Trees" in Ancestry, on "Annetta Mauk." There's a researcher EAWilliams52 who has apparently done a lot of information-gathering, and she thinks the correct spelling is "Mauk."

George Mauk 125 PA
Mr. Coho,

I think I found George Mauk, Company E, 125th PA. He's buried as George "Mank" at Soldiers' Home in DC.

RE: Simon B @ St Marys
I've been working for the last hour or more on figuring out something on James Benden, whom you have buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery. I agree that he most likely is there, accompanied by his unmarried brother William. Problem is ... no stones! Mama has one, though, 137345425, and so does Elizabeth 137346625. Various Ancestry Pubic Tree folks make the assertion that James died in 1880, but his medical exams in his pension envelope run at least through April 22, 1891.

RE: 125th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry
Thank you for your kind words. The Riverview project has been very successful as I have heard from many sharing the same sentiments you shared. Your project sounds very interesting too - putting together a piece of our nations past. I just added a photo to John Shriner, Co F 125 PVI. Wish we were able to read all stones, but many are damaged, missing, or just unreadable due to environmental conditions.

J. Schreckenhurst
I just noticed in my previous email the I sent regarding John Schreckenhurst that there is a typographical error. I mentioned two census records. The first was 1850; the second should read 1860. Would you please correct this.

Thank you,

RE: RE:Josiah Lingenfelter
You can move George Rickard from being a "candidate" to being a member of K-125. The tombstone pic I posted proves it.

As for Michael McDermitt in your candidate list, he was the uncle of the young man whose stone we recently located.
