Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been working on genealogy for close to 20 years and know how obsessive it can get. Looking for information on several families. In Missouri: Koch, Orf, Stein, and Post all from the Wentzville and St. Charles area. In Michigan: Flees and Babic from the Battle Creek and Traverse City area. In my spare time I volunteer at the Midwest Genealogy Center in Independence, MO.

Martha Flees
Angela
I may have told you that I worked with Martha and daughters Mary and Sharon.
Martha was cremated and returned to Elkhart Indiana no funeral service in northern Michigan would have went.
Martha had a heart of gold always.
Glenna Far Flees died Jan.3 1944 in Northport. Not sure if there's a stone seems like it's a real small stone(rock).
l told you that I spent Easter dinner at Raymond's and Martha's home in 1974. Dana

RE: Information in book
Angela
You would have to go back to Posen area in Poland.Lucia went there and really did not get anywhere.
My g-g grandfather(Franciszek) and brothers Ignatz. Joseph. John and Thomas went to Wisconsin before coming to Michigan.Gene Novak had Jacob's parents within 50 miles of the Flis family in Poland. He feels they're all related. But Jacob's family ended up In Manistee before coming to Leelanau Co. Dana

RE: Information in book
Dear Angela
Did you get the connection for Joe flees? That he came from my relation that lived in Wisconsin at time of murderer of the nun. My great grandfather claimed Jacob's family was distant realation. They all knew each others families before coming to Michigan from Wisconsin. Dana

Edward is in the wrong cemetry. Would you please move him to South Linn. I re-photographed South Linn and that is where he is buried, not Linn. I goof when I originally created his memorial.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

RE: Mary Fleis Brzezinski
Angela,
Did you ever get an answer to your question about
Mary (Fleis) Brzezinski's sisters? Her sisters were nuns
Josephine (Sister Mary Leontine) d. 1973
Agnes (S. Mary Damascene) d. 1981
Elizabeth (S. Mary Augustine) d.1984
Rosalie (S. Mary Faberose) d. 1978
They were my Great Grandfather's cousins.
I remember telling you that Mary Brzezinski lived in a picker's quarters on her daughter's farm (Bridgett Ghastin). Then she ended up at Leelanau Memorial Hospital in Northport where she died
in Aug.1971. This was told to me by her granddaughter Janet when I was in the hospital Sept.2008 and she was my nurse, yes. Dana

RE: The Errant Nun
Angela,
But as you see Jacob Flis/Flees was acting on orders from the priest. He really should reported
finding the nun's body in a timely manner.Instead of waiting until the investigation.
Harry Milostan tries to allow to form your own
opinion.
Now read Larry Wakefield's account in the "The Butcher's Dozen", personally knew him and his son.
He was a help to my friend Chuck and his book.
Basically you'll have three interpretations, then find the reporter's account in the Leelanau Enterprise, coming from the sheriff's dept. Dana

I have placed a request for Joseph Costanza. You have already placed a pic for his wife. Could you add your pic to his memorial? Thanks
