FAG Correction - Frank Mattison
I received your correction requests to add Frank Mattison as the father for Leon, James & Grace. Franks memorial indicates a "non cemetery burial". Are you sure he isn't located there at the Sterlingville Cemetery (listed as Gates Cemetery?) I know he is not listed there but many of the stones there are difficult to read and may not have been added. Is there documentation that he was buried somewhere else within the former town?

Thanks,
Jim

RE: Savage Varley Cemetery vs Gates Cemetery
Both are among the 13 cemeteries contained within the limits of the Fort Drum Army Base. Their locations are not generally documented as public access is restricted (generally only allowed on Memorial Day except for special request by direct family members). The location on both is the location of Gates Cemetery. You can see Savage Varley if you go to one of the maps on find-a-grave, switch to Satellite view, zoom in and follow Antwerp Road north east to the intersection with "Fort Drum" Road. You can clearly see the cemetery on that satellite image. The cemeteries on the base are fascinating to visit, as is the area. Its very strange to see what use to be a thriving community totally abandoned, cemeteries and all, when they were forced out by the expansion of the base.

RE: Henry Matteson and Eleanor Scotchtown Cemetery
They're under one a the trees in that cemetery, right next to the trunk. Thanks for the tip, I can remove my picture if you find them and you can add yours. Otherwise I'll give the pen thing a try and replace the pic.

RE: Adaline Case Matteson
I used records that I got from the town clerk in Shaftsbury. Also one of her daughters' death record has her as Adaline Case. Her name on the death record from the Shaftsbury Town Clerk was Adaline Mattison (Case). I have found sometimes that they put wrong information when they are transcribing from records. My great grandmothers transcribed death card has her husband listed as her father. but the actual death record doesn't have her father listed but has her husband listed as her husband. Who knows, we just keep searching.

Adaline Case Matteson
Hi Jonathan,
I got her maiden name from her Shaftsbury death record which listed her parents names as Hezikiah Case and Clarissa Carey. Bk 3 Pg 16

I checked the spreadsheet I made from the cemetery list and the maiden name was not there, so there's no telling who sent it and when. I think the Find A Grave Admins can check and see all the changes ever made to any page, so you might try that. However, they probably get so many similar requests for information that it's impossible for them to dig it all up. Good luck!
