Bio Photo Retired and have decided to share the wealth of info gleaned over the past 50yrs. After two hard-drive failures, I've decided to convert most of my notebooks to the ancestry.com website and just recently found the findagrave.com website and have been converted! My first day searching and I found my long-lost Uncle Edwin's final resting place in Texarkana.

RE: Old Poor Farm Cemetery
I found the location today and it's the same coordinates as Mountain View Cemetery. None of the names you have listed as Old Poor Farm Cemetery were there. It's very weird. All the names of the Mountain View that are listed here were found and already photographed. Yet, the cemetery looks old and moderately maintained there were a lot of small stones that would need to be dug out. Just seemed odd that not one name was found from Old Poor Farm listings.

RE: Old Poor Farm Cemetery
I'll do my best to find it but I fear it might be plowed under. I pray not. The area looks too small for all those graves but I'll see what I find. thank you for your help.

RE: Old Poor Farm Cemetery
Sorry, didn't realize you were not here in knoxville, tn. I noticed you have entered the majority of the names. So, since you entered them do I have your permission to go photograph the cemetery, if I can find it that is?

Old Poor Farm Cemetery
I was wondering if you had any information you could give me regarding the location of this cemetery and any history on it. By looking at Google maps it looks like it's on private property of either the sheriffs department or a golf course. I have been known to jump a fence or two for a cemetery i kind of shy away from jumping the fenses of prisons and or armed grounds. Just a personal rule about not getting shot :-) Any help would be great. I'm on a mission to get some pictures of this place with all those memorials of children.

thank you,
Kris

hi there
Hope you're having a nice dry day. We're in for some rain here in Michigan but none really so far, just gray

Are you open to some facts/ideas about Johnson Snyder and his wife Elizabeth in Mount Zion Cemetery Wood County Ohio? The ones that are born in 1848 and 1843 respectively
memorial numbers 55271985 and 55271991

I believe Elizabeth is not the Wirebaugh maiden name However the Allen Saylor listed as son is her son

A Ms Wirebaugh did indeed marry a Johnson Snyder but Elizabeth Baker married Samuel Saylor (whichever spelling) and then married this Mr Snyder

Name: Samuel Saylor
Event Type: Marriage
Event Date: 14 Nov 1858
Event Place: Hancock, Ohio, United States
Spouse's Name: Elizabeth Baker
Reference ID: cn 154 p 493 , GS Film Number: 1299131 , Digital Folder Number: 004017480 , Image Number: 00534
Citing this Record Ohio, County Marriages, 1789-2013

Name: Johnson Snyder
Event Type: Marriage
Event Date: 30 Nov 1871
Event Place: Wood, Ohio, United States
Spouse's Name: Elizabeth Saylor
Reference ID: 333 , GS Film Number: 409700 , Digital Folder Number: 004257787 , Image Number: 00194
Citing this Record Ohio, County Marriages, 1789-2013

This is the younger set of Snyders that show birth years for both Ms Wirebaugh and Mr Snyder

Name: Johnson Snyder
Event Type: Marriage
Event Date: 13 Mar 1894
Event Place: Wood, Ohio, United States
Age: 21
Birth Year (Estimated): 1873
Spouse's Name: Elizabeth Wirebaugh
Spouse's Age: 19
Spouse's Birth Year (Estimated): 1875
Reference ID: cn 6364 , GS Film Number: 409702 , Digital Folder Number: 004016702 , Image Number: 00484
Citing this Record Ohio, County Marriages, 1789-2013

I also have censuses from 1860 1870 and 1880 that show Elizabeth and Samuel together in 1860
She being a widow but not listed that way in 1870 as a Sailor and then in 1880 a Snyder with Johnson and kids from both marriages

The reason I got this all together is the dates just did not figure up right where mine said 1873 for Johnson Snyder

All of them seem to be from the same area except for Mr Sailor.

I have yet to find much info on the younger set of Johnson and Elizabeth Wirebaugh. Wondering if she was married to a Shafer before...well now I am getting confused...gotta stop that! LOL!

Even their burials

Their daughter Mary Minerva Snyder married my ancestor Lawrence Earl Grames. I believe they divorced and she remarried a Smith but ya know...Smith???? and it may have been a John Smith???? Lucky me.

So let me know what you think

Thanks
Blue

If you want me to share any of these documents I am saving them now....

:)

Course I could be wrong....I am occasionally :)
