Bailey family
I am the gggrandaughter of John W and Mary F Bailey Pennington. They were married Septeber 29, 1859 in Carter County, Missouri. Both are buried at the Calhoun Cemetery, Calhoun, Henry County, Missouri. I believe Mary was the daughter of James Frank and Phoebe Cox Bailey/Baley. I believe that Mary's sister Margaret Bailey Pennington was married to William Isaac Pennington, John's brother. They were married December 15, 1856 in Lawrence County, Kentucky. Would like to compare info on the Bailey family.

Martha Bailey
George D. Bailey, husband to Mary E. Alexander, was married previously to a Martha Johnson. Is it possible that the Martha Bailey in the Bailey Cemetery in Carter, Kentucky, is the 1st wife of George? Are their graves close to each other?

For Cyrus Maddix, the dod shown is 29 Jun but KY death index, KY death record and the tombstone all show his date of death as having been 26 Jun.
Thank you for correcting it!

Clarify the Baileys
In 1870 John Cox Bailey and Elizabeth C. Maddix
had Sampson as a six year old on the census in precinct 5 Carter CO. 1800 Census he is 15 years old in Precinct 6 Carter Co. 1870 spelled Bayley and in 1880 Bailey same family though. Their children were James 1863, Sampson 1865- 1940, Charles C 1867, Rebecca 1868 to 1945, Sarah Polly 1870, Jemima 1875- 1927, Samuel L 1880 -1947, Margaret 1883....does this sound correct? please let me know Kathy
