Bio and Links
Bio Photo <-- My sons, Sean and Eric, and myself, several years ago.

The older you get, the more deaths it seems, or maybe I was just too young to know the difference. I wanted something to memorialize members of my family and friends.

The majority of the memorials I made are family and some are very close family friends.

For all those that took my family pictures and used them on Ancestry, you weren't supposed to copy them unless you ask me first, and it would have been nice for anyone of you to say "Hey, I used your picture on my family tree!" I would have replied with something like "Lets see how we are related!"

Discovering who your ancestors are is one thing, but reading about them even if its just an obituary tells you something about them as a person, not just another leaf in the tree. Seeing their final resting place is a type of closure for me.

I'm looking for any information on Scovill, Hill, Gear, Parlett, Lawton, Shields, Weilbacher, Frierdich, Murrah.

Please don't add any music to my interments. If you have a picture for one of my memorials you'd like to add, go ahead, but please let me know so I can see it! Thanks!

If I've left flowers on a memorial, that doesnt mean that I know them. It could be that I was flowering random names, or I got there by following links from other memorials. I've flowered over 30,000 memorials, and I probably only knew a very small percentage of those people.

This was posted in the forums, and I think it pretty much sums up how most of us feel about graving and looking for our ancestors.

Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
you died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spread out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
By Thelma Greene Reagan

Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

Sherry,

You can only link siblings through the parents so I have added his brother and sister's Find A Grave #s to his bio on his memorial.

Thank you for the information!

Best wishes,

Traci's Mom
Traci Fields
SUCCESS!

Because of you and other wonderful findagrave friends, Traci now has 5,260 flowers/tokens, and her birthday is a little over a week away. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! We appreciate you all so much.

I'm in awe! To show you more of what Traci was like, I posted the following on her memorial page,

"Traci, my angel, I can see the big grin on your face for all the flowers you're receiving on your memorial page. You're telling me, "Mom, why are you so surprised there are so many good people in this world? You should have known that....." "You're right, sweetheart, I should have known".

Traci was a person of strong faith, and GOD took excellent care of her, and helped her through all her hardships! Her faith never waivered.

GOD, bless them all, and thank you for your wonderful gift of Traci.

We've received an outpouring of so much love for Traci. I will try to get to everyone's site and leave a flower/token for at least one of their loved ones. However, there are so many of you, it will take me a while.

Token you left for Traci Fields
Sherry, thank you very much for the token you left for my angel daughter, Traci. She was a wonderful gift from GOD, and she's in my heart and mind every single day. Her passing has left major holes in the hearts of her family and friends.

I appreciate you helping to reach my goal of 5,000 tokens by her birthday, November 20th.

I'm thankful and blessed for your kindness. GOD bless you for your heavenly heart.

James Hill
Hi Sherry,

I no longer remember where I found the original info on James and Anna Hill. However, I did do a little looking around on Ancestry and found a daughter of theirs named Mary "Polly" Hill Kerr. Her link is below. I sent in an edit for her memorial to link it to her parents. I don't know if they had any additional children.

Mary Hill
Birth 11 Jul 1813 in Green, Taylor, Kentucky, United States
Death 4 Apr 1881 in Taylor, Wayne, Michigan, United States

Perhaps Mary had a brother. One family tree on Ancestry had this:

James Washington Hill
Birth 1823 in Kentucky
Death 1899

Good luck with your search,

Bob.

Eunice MORRIS (1839 - 1916)
Eunice was my 2nd great grandmother. I went and searched Newspaper.com and found a smaller notice, but not the one you shared. That was a great find you found! I so appreciate you sharing!
