Bio Photo Welcome to my profile.

Everyone who knows me knows that I love getting to know my ancestors and have spent the better part of the last thirty years devoted to it. I enjoy walking through cemeteries and looking at memorial stones. I find it relaxing and peaceful and have met some of the nicest people through Find A Grave!

It makes me happy to help someone add a page to their history and keep the person's memory alive. I also feel that it may give a family a type of closure to know where a loved one is located.

My pictures are not copyrighted. You may certainly use my monument photos for your PERSONAL PRIVATE family trees. I am finding my pictures on Ancestry without source, and not linked, which is illegal. IF YOU CANNOT PROPERLY SOURCE OTHER'S MATERIAL, DO NOT USE IT!!

Please use the new Edit System when possible for making any name or date changes to a memorial. You add the changes yourself and I will approve them or contact you for further clarification.

I am happy to add or correct information for you on memorials. I am somewhat liberal with transfers of anyone not related to me, but please state your specific relationship.

Please also feel free to contact me via email or post a message regarding any additional related family members. Perhaps we are cousins!

THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN

Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.

Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

Hi Chole!! Did you get a chance to see the new headstone pics I added last month? I hope you like them. The cemetery grounds keepers keep the grass off of them like that, they just started doing that about 6 months ago. Sorry it took me so long to get it done!!

Anna Belle Low Dunham
HI Chloe, Anna Belle Low Dunham was the sister of my great, great grandmother. I was wishing you would ammend her name on Find A Grave by dropping the "e" at the end of Belle, as she was given that name because it was her mother's maiden name, Bell, with NO "e" at the end. I have added pictures to her memorial, so please do have a look! Although her name was Anna Bell, everyone in the family called her "Bell." Thank you so much.
PS: Is there any way for you to attach her memorial to her parents? Eliza Jane Bell Low and Henry William Low from Spring Valley MN. . .

Good wishes, Sean Kettelkamp

RE: Martha Perdew Wilbur
Hi Chloe,
Martha is our aunt.
If you would like us to add any information to her memorial, we would be happy to do it.
Just send us the information through the edit/correction tab.
We are starting to go back through our family tree and update their memorials.
Have a great day :)

RE: Thank You!!
Hi Chloe
You're very welcome. It was somewhat difficult to get a good photo of her headstone because of that number set right in front of it. Not sure what that number means.

I was given a program several years ago by a friend that they no longer make (darn). It was Microsoft Picture It Photo 7. I don't what I'll do when I upgrade to a new computer because it probably won't work on Windows 8 or 10. It is so easy to work with, I'll really miss it when I can no longer use it. Chris

Yes, she has a headstone. It's as nice as James'. I'll go get a photo in a few days. She is buried in Section OO-Block 4, Lot 3 Grave 4 and James is in Section OO-Section 4, Lot 3 Grave 7. So they are close to each other but in two different rows. Usually the rows are 1-5 and 6-10, so they are probably one above the other. Chris

RE: Gertrude Von Sien
You were so correct in questioning Gertrude Von Sien's edit request! Her mother's link is correct. Am digging for her father's burial information. Cannot find a Find A Grave memorial for him. Will resubmit the correct father information. Thank you for keeping me straight, always nice to have another set of eyes on the research.

RE: Gertrude Von Sien
I am related. Anna Cecelia MCKEOWN married August Kaiserlik on Aug 26, 1910 in Fillmore County, Minnesota. They had 3 children together. He passed away Oct. 30, 1925. She then married August Samuel Chesney on Feb 2, 1928 in Olmsted County, Minnesota. They had 3 children together.
Many years of research on 2 McKeown lines - they reused the same first names a lot! It has taken careful digging through records and a lot of old newspapers to make sure they were kept straight. Appreciate your taking the time to check!

RE: Emma Bouvier Childs Peterson Wells
She was gorgeous and fearless.
I corrected the site to indicate that her son David graduated from Yale (it was his wife who went to Bryn Mawr).
I am a member of Ancestry, but I don't know how to find that picture. I guess you just search for photos...
Thanks.

...was my husband's grandmother. Could you tell me where you got that beautiful passport picture for her? She looks so lovely. The bridal picture of her is sitting on my piano right now....

RE: Martha Alice Frederick
Hello Chloe,
You are welcome. The George Tinkham book of the San Joaquin area, as well as Stanislaus County has great biographies of the locals. I was able to find out a lot on a couple of family members, it is a real treasure that Mr. Tinkham wrote it. Kat
