Bio

I'm Peter Hakze, residing in the city of Almere in the center of the Netherlands, 15 miles east of Amsterdam. Since about 1985 I'm investigating my father's family Hakze (aka Hakse and Haxe) and my mother's family Van der Tuin (= Of the Garden). In March/April 1893 Johannes van der Tuin and his wife Margje Groen (= Green) emigrated with their children from NL to South Dakota, Charles Mix County, Edgerton (or Overijssel), a settlement near Platte. Margje's parents and siblings Groen emigrated at the same time to the same place. I'm interested in all what happened there to them, so if you have some info for me which isn't already on my Rootsweb site, I would be very grateful.
Since 2012 I'm also very interested in all other Dutch families that emigrated from the Netherlands to the USA and Canada, incl. their descendants, and I like very much to improve their Find A Grave (FAG) memorials with more info and photos, create new memorials for them, and link them to their ancestors in the Netherlands.
