 | RE: Lucy Mitchell I've transcribed enough memorials that I know how easily transposing or mixing up the numbers is. it's why i request photos for the maybes. The pictures often have a negative result but every once in a while i hit pay dirt.Added by kaj9488 on Jun 04, 2013 5:21 PM | | | kaj9488
 | Lucy Mitchell Thank you for the picture of Lucy's grave marker, even though this is not the relative I'm looking for. My Lucy Mitchell is much younger, more in tune with the dates on the memorial. I still appreciate the time and effort you made to get the picture.Added by kaj9488 on Jun 03, 2013 11:58 AM | | | Ewing 1
 | RE: Robert M. Walter Mr Wilton,
I will delete that message just know that the several stones in the row where this stone is located are solely memorial stones the cemetery office does not know where the location of the burial is.
Thank you for taking the photoAdded by Ewing 1 on May 30, 2013 12:33 PM | | | Dusty Pilgrim
 | thank you! thank you so much for the picture of the headstone for my G-Aunt Jane & her husband John Slusher. I'm glad I asked for the pic, I saw the memorial for John but didn't know for sure if that was her hubby. since she's on the same stone...now I know.
am now waiting to get Jane connected to her parents at the Miracle cemetery near Berea.
again, thank you! | | | Patricia Williams Curry
 | Richmond Cemetery Thank you so much for linking Alice Kellogg Orttenburger to her parents. I appreciate your help with this so that future genealogists have the family together. Pat | | | Gregg Leeser
 | Silver Creek Do you happen know what it says above her name? Is there another name that you are aware of? Thanks so much!! Gregg :-) | | | Gregg Leeser
 | Norah Bufford AWESOME PIC of the grave of Norah Bufford!!! When were you out at the "James Barnett Cemetery" to take such a nice pic? I actually had pulled her death record for the information as you are never sure how accurate the transcriber was, but I will make everything match up with the marker. DId you get any other pics while you were there? I don't know if you are aware, but the Historical Society gave the cemetery named that cemetery in the late 80s. That should be the Silver Creek Cemetery. There is the church one with that name, but this was a secular burying ground for the community of Silver Creek. I had many relatives who were alive at the time who ever had parents or children who died as infants buried there. In 1981 I went down there and with the directions give me by relatives, found it back in the woods. The current google view shows the area much more manicured leading through the field than it was then! At that time I went to the historical society and asked about the community of Silver Creek. They said there was the creek but not a town. That was the story I got from the library and every source that should have known about the history of the area. Of course, now they acknowledge it. Had they even bothered to go through the all newspapers they had (they are online today) there is an entire section called "Notes from Silver Creek." Nothing like competence. Well now we have a problem where people are entering burials for 'Silver Creek' at the Baptist Church yard at Berea. It infuriates me that some of the same people (that I know for a fact and would name, but am not quite to that point yet) when told about the cemetery in the early 80s responded, 'there are old cemeteries all over the county, there is nothing we can do about one.' Then something about cows grazing around them and farmers plowing them under. Then they found God and suddenly took an interest, but did not consult anyone who may have been able to assist them in not making one mistake after another. (there is a lady now who posted that she reads about an area of the county called Yates and they tell her there is no such place...it was in the paper all of the time and there is an old map online KY Univeristies web site of the county that shows it BIG AS DAY! They really need to stop parading around as a historical society and just call it a kaffe klatch for bored incompetents. I burns me up that the people who have a true interest today are having to deal with stumbling blocks that the historical society created itself through laziness, carelessness, and so forth. If you have a contact at the Historical Society (their website is a scream...they were awful 35 years ago and still are!)please let me know. I have a few things I need to discuss with them. Thanks so much!!! Did you get any other pics of graves there or a 'cemetery pic?' Thanks for the awesome job. Gregg | | | Danielle Graap
 | James McWilliams Dear Charles, If I forgot to say thank you for your time and effort in getting me James's gravestone picture back in Sept 2012, I am so sorry. I am so grateful for those of you who out of the kindness of your heart do this for other people. God Bless You! Danielle Graap | | | | [View all messages...] |
