I feel that it is very important to record the deaths and burials of our loved ones in order to keep their memories alive. I hope that you will find your loves ones here and I can be of help to you.|
If you have any additional information to add to a memorial, please send me an edit and I will be glad to add it.
I normally will not transfer outside of guidelines unless there are substantial reasons for doing so. If you want a transfer OOG, please provide information to warrant transfer.
Please leave messages on my Public Page.
I will NEVER Give permission for MY photos to be put on Ancestry.com. Please just link to the Findagrave memorial from Ancestry. It works and does not give Ancestry the "ownership" of my photos. By uploading my photos to Ancestry, you are giving them to Ancestry. Read the small print on Ancestry.com during the photo upload, it is there for a purpose.

Your memorial for Little Steve Coggins #52509470 is a duplicate of Steve Coggins #44645226. Yours has the name correct; the other one has a better headstone photo and family links. Obviously they should be merged. I'm sure you know far better than I how to merge two memorials when both have useful information.

Was it the "please" or the "thank you" you object to and refer to when you say my tone was uncalled for?
I presented you with the facts. Perhaps that's what you are misinterpreting as accusations.
If you can persuade the other manager to delete her/his memorial that will solve the problem of a duplicate.
But let's be clear, the oldest memorial created in the correct cemetery is the valid one. Not the one in the wrong cemetery, no matter the date, no matter the circumstances. Findagrave FAQ says "a memorial with a correct known burial location will always be preferred."
Good luck on an amicable resolution.

Above is the link where you can access death records.
Below is link to her death record. She is a Swinson not a Stephenson. Her parents are listed as John Swinson and Mary Logan.

Thanks for the comments. I plan to take my camera again the next time I ride down to St Marks.

I have no idea! Hooks is who created the memorial you need to contact them. I just take photos from time to time and she is most likely in the older section. But she is not buried close to them or I would have taken her photo. There is a survey done of Cedar Hill, but I am not close to the library to see if she is in it. Albany has a survey, but I am not in Albany. Some folks just add a spouse without really knowing they are buried at a site or not. I never do that unless I know for sure. You may be able to call the library in Terrell Co. and find out if they have a book of the cemetery.

I submitted an edit for birth and death dates. The headstone was incorrectly transcribed. The date on the stone is his DEATH, not his birth. Also, the day in July looks like 36, which it can't be, but probably is 26 -- the second digit looks like a 6, not a 0. I'll try to get a better photo of it the next time I'm down there.
Also note that I just uploaded a headstone photo for Nancy Fitzgerald, died 1884, says "relict of Michael Fitzgerald". Assuming we are correct that they were man and wife, he could not have been born just 14 years before she died, and he must have died before she did.

Not sure why the note that the grave could not be located. It was one of the few "no photograph" graves in St Marks that I actually located easily. The headstone is lying on the ground; perhaps it was covered with leaves when sought previously. I'm almost certain it's within a few feet of Michael Fitzgerald's, but I wasn't alert for his since it wasn't on the no-photo list. The shadows on the photo of his look like the same wrought iron fence. I'll try to check on this the next time I go down there.

You have sent me two edits for this person. One with a female spouse and one with a maiden name of Randolph. Do you have documentation that both females were married to each other?
|Soul Seekers||RE: Mary Ellen Barber #132995085|
The SS records indicate she was born as Mary Ellen Thomas. It also indicates she was married to a Mr. Hoke and Mr Dempsey prior to her marriage to Homer Hinton Barber. Thanks for being alert and asking for proof. We can't be too careful.
