Bio and Links
Bio Photo My wife and I live about five miles outside Reading, Berks County, Pa. I try to visit most of the cemeteries in Reading and the southwest corner of Berks. I've also wandered into Eastern Lancaster and Lebanon county where some family members are buried. I've had an interest in geneaology since 2002. (probably longer, I just didn't know it yet.) Findagrave has not only peaked my interest in taking cemetery photos, but, also in discovering and walking cemeteries in this area that I never knew were there. Not only have I documented many of my ancestors, I have been taking as many photos as possible in the hopes of helping others find theirs. If you are a family member, I will gladly transfer your ancestor's memorial to you.
Future generations will want to know what happened to their ancestors, and Findagrave is the best way to document them.

Whose grave are you going to find today?

(Find-A-Grave Policy on Transfers:

Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations, this would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. Please include your member number for a transfer.
I will always make corrections and add links when asked. Thanks!!

RE: Lillian and Carolyn Hardtner
I think that they are sister Lillian S Hardtner and Carolyn L Hardtner. They never married.
They were the daughters of Christian Hardtner and Julia Ripple Hardtner (Find A Grave Memorial# 119799773)

I found the 1880 census for the family in Reading, PA including a brother Edward C Hartner
Name Age
Christian Hardtner 44
Julia Hardtner 37
Carrie L. Hardtner 8
Lillie S. Hardtner 6
Edward C. Hardtner 2

If I find exact birth dates for Carolyn and Lillian I will let you know! I have not located their father, Christian's place of burial but he remarried Johann Kobert in 1885 and died in Reading, PA on 22 Jan 1893.
Thanks,
Anne

Lillian and Carolyn Hardtner
I have a question about Lillian S Hardtner.

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=Hardtner&GSiman=1&GScnty=2246&GRid=68551194&

You have her as the daughter of Carolyn Hardtner. I think these may be sisters but am not sure. Did you have any other evidence of their relationship other than the same surname? I have been trying to track down sisters Lillian and Carrie (Carolyn) Hardtner who lived and worked in New York but were born in Pennsylvania. If you have any other information to share it would really help with one of my dead ends!
Thanks!
