My wife and I live about five miles outside Reading, Berks County, Pa. I try to visit most of the cemeteries in Reading and the southwest corner of Berks. I've also wandered into Eastern Lancaster and Lebanon county where some family members are buried. I've had an interest in geneaology since 2002. (probably longer, I just didn't know it yet.) Findagrave has not only peaked my interest in taking cemetery photos, but, also in discovering and walking cemeteries in this area that I never knew were there. Not only have I documented many of my ancestors, I have been taking as many photos as possible in the hopes of helping others find theirs. If you are a family member, I will gladly transfer your ancestor's memorial to you. |
Future generations will want to know what happened to their ancestors, and Findagrave is the best way to document them.
Whose grave are you going to find today?
(Find-A-Grave Policy on Transfers:
Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations, this would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. Please include your member number for a transfer.
I will always make corrections and add links when asked. Thanks!!

I have my account for 5 years but have not been active that long. I created some for myself but cant figure out how to attach the names to the cemeteries. I saw you have virtual cemeteries as well. How did you attach them or where do I find that information on findagrave?
Thank you for any help you can offer.

Hello, I have a photo of Pvt William Fasig in his Civil War uniform taken at Fort Monroe. If you're interested in adding it to his memorial, please email me and I will gladly send. Thank you. Julian Francis (#47319453)

As you requested, I added the PA Death Certificate to the other memorial for Franklin Heater. You can delete yours.

Thanks so much. I may find a couple of others, too.

MAy I copy a photo you took of the stone of my 4th cousin, Rebecca Hoffmaster Lorah? Thank you.
|Kelly B||Verification of Maiden Name|
I'm researching my family tree, and I believe that this person, Clara Scholl, is my ancestor. But I think her maiden name was Gehret, not Fields as is listed. Could you please let me know where this information came from?

I am a maternal 3x great-grandson of Daniel and Hannah H Dillon (Memorial# 63846396 & 63846359 respectively). I have been looking for Hannah H's maiden name for some time now and have recently come across some circumstantial evidence that leads me to believe that it was "Haberstich" and her parents were (hypothetically at this point) Samuel and Hannah Haberstich (Memorial# 63844934 and 63844952 respectively). You added the memorials for all 4 of these individuals - for that I thank you!
From _CLOSE_ examination of these 4 photos together - it _APPEARS_ that Daniel and Hannah's markers are directly in front of Samuel and Hannah Haberstich's markers - which would lend a great deal more credence to a familial connection between these individuals. However, the resolution of the marker photographs is not good enough for me to _POSITIVELY_ confirm this.
My question(s): Do you gather plot plans before doing your photo expeditions or do you maintain a row/marker to photograph record of your walking tour? Or - hopefully more likely - do you have higher resolution copies of the photographs for these 4 markers - particularly Daniel and Hannah Dillon's markers that you would be willing to email to me?
Thank you in advance for your time and effort on my family's behalf!
David Brown (Find A Grave#47251759)
