Retired Navy Reserve officer as well as civil servant. Brought up in a very patriot family of Nelsons and have keen interest in genealogy. One continuing effort of mine is to document all cemeteries within York County, Virginia, to include updating all current listing of graves in Find A Grave. I am also providing an updated cemetery plot to the GIS office of the County government. If you know of family cemeteries in York County, not listed in Find A Grave, please contact me.
During the next few months I will be concentrating on the Nelson family - particularly the off spring of Thomas Nelson, Jr., of Yorktown. | |

Hi Thomas,
I received your message re linking him to his parent's memorials. The only reason I haven't is because they are long time "burial unknown" & the memorials do not represent the known disposition of their final resting place. I don't link to memorials that do not fulfill the purpose of Find A Grave. The FAQ section states that final disposition of "burial unknown" memorials should be determined within 30 days. I have his parents names stated on his memorial.

Thanks for the additional information about this memorial and his wife. I've added everything but wanted to clarify his birth date. You said it should be "Jan 11, 1821" while I have Oct 10, 1821. Did you want me to change that date?

On his death record it has burial site *Charles Parish Church Cemetery",but Find A Grave has Smith Cemetery in its place. If you can help I would be grateful.
