Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hello from New Mexico.
I've been excavating and cataloging pioneer cemeteries for over 30 years. In the 1980s I even published a few works on the subject. Like most of you, I'm also an avid genealogist. While I enjoy finding the graves of famous people, I'm more interested in the common soldier and pioneer. Every one of them has a story.

As for genealogy, I am currently working on the surnames Trine, Minter, Dozier, Shackleford and Marquez. I'm also collecting the names and graves of the Maryland 6th Infantry.

I'm usually "on the road," so my photos come from wherever I happen to be. I've had the pleasure of meeting hundreds of wonderful people who share this love for history. Contact me if I can be of any help to you.

Max Forward memorial
Thank you for transferring the Max Forward memorial to me. I do know a cousin on that direct branch of my Murphy family, so when I can I'll see what she can tell me to improve the information on those memorials. You did an excellent job of photographing the memorials.

RE: Christopher Montague
I am not related to the Montague family. I was just taking some pictures while I was looking for my daughter-in-law's family. Sorry.

RE: Alwina Grasse
Mr. and Mrs. Grasse are buried in the Lutheran Cemetery. Several other Grasse relatives are in Wildwood Cemetery. I got my info many years ago from a member of the Grasse family.

RE: Montague/McCormack - St. Josephs's
I visited St. Joseph's cemetery in 2005 and took photos and documented some inscriptions. I think there was also a book in the Daughter of the American Revolution library in DC. Are you a Montague?

RE: Clara Kellogg
Thanks for your message; good point about the name search. Here's a tip: When searching, click the box marked "Do partial name search on surname". It took me awhile to find this option and I've found it helpful in situations such as this. -- Linda

Col. Patrick J. Egan
That is great that you found his gravemarker in St. Joseph's Cemetery. I have changed his name, as you requested. Would you like me to transfer him to you?

Anna Brooke # 83217860
Though the tombstone states she was born in 1856, that date has to be incorrect, due to the fact that her parents John Mercer Brooke and Catherine Corbin Pendleton were not married until 14 March 1871. It was during the Civil War that she married Alexander Swift "Sandie" Pendleton of Gen. Stonewall Jacksons' aide. He was killed and it wasn't until 1871 that she married Brooke.
