Walking, I am listening to a deeper way.
Suddenly all my ancestors are behind me.
Be still, they say. Watch and listen.
You are the result of the love of thousands.
~ Linda Hogan (1947-present)
"No love, no friendship, can cross the path of our destiny without leaving some mark on it forever."
~ Francois Mocuriac
THE FORGOTTEN GRAVE
After a hundred years
Nobody knows the place, --
Agony, that enacted there,
Motionless as peace.
Weeds triumphant ranged,
Strangers strolled and spelled
At the lone orthography
Of the elder dead.
Winds of summer fields
Recollect the way, --
Instinct picking up the key
Dropped by memory.
~ Emily Dickinson
by JOHN MASEFIELD (1878-1967) found after his death in a note left for his"Heirs, Administrators, and Assigns":
Let no religious rite be done or read
In any place for me when I am dead,
But burn my body into ash, and scatter
The ash in secret into running water,
Or on the windy down, and let none see;
And then thank God that there's an end of me.
A COUNTRY BURIAL
Ample make this bed.
Make this bed with awe;
In it wait till judgment break
Excellent and fair.
Be its mattress straight,
Be its pillow round;
Let no sunrise' yellow noise
Interrupt this ground
~ Emily Dickinson
"They say such nice things about people at their funerals that it makes me sad that I'm going to miss mine by just a few days." ~ Garrison Keillor

Thanks, Ruth - I appreciate your understanding.
|Stew Lingley||Joanne Watson|
I found the marker for Joanne's husband, John.There was no marker nearby for Joanne.I checked with the cemetery office and their records show that Joanne and John are in the same grave.I suppose someone could easily add a marker for Joanne.Or, you could simply add the photo of John's marker to Joanne's record.

|Bill Hardin||Are you my cousin?|
John N. Hardin Jr. was my Grandfather. I never met him but did meet my Aunt Mary and her two girls at Grandma Agnes' house in Florida back in the 60's
|Gerry Jean||Pratt family|
I just claimed your requests for the Pratt family. I always check the Holy Cross data base (sfgenealogy.com) to verify the locations; I found that Hannah (1915) and Stephen (1953) are also buried in the same T-25-36 spot as Helen, Robert (2), and Deborah. The memorial pages are already there so just create 2 more requests and I'll include them when I venture out to H.C. ... maybe Wed.

Thank you, Ruth, for providing bio information for Mr. Meyer.
It has been added to his Memorial Page.

It is my pleasure to transfer memorials to someone I know will take care of them and continue to keep them updated.
|Carrie PARLER-GIBSON||Find A Grave|
Thank you for sponsoring the memorial for
Matilda Caroline Herndon Williams.
I have noticed what a great job you do on your memorials so I transferred this memorial as well as her father's over to your care.
