William G Lofton was black, and around the time of his death, other black residents around the area were also burned to death, so some suspect the Klan. (I re-watched the show to validate all this)

hello :)
You did a memorial on William Lofton. I saw a tv show on Travel Channel that talked briefly about him. He was a farmer, but went in World War 2, and he died on March 14th, 1949. That night he was asleep & his house caught on fire. His wife came home and saw their house collapse. His death certificate said he died of extreme burns, and the newspaper wrote that the cause of the fire was an overheated stove. Some say the Klan was the cause because he was a black sympathizer. That's about all I got from the show about him.

Silas Wilson
Ms. Shirlee,

What can you tell me, if anything about Silas Wilson - Birth: Jan. 12, 1884, Death: Jun. 16, 1904, who is buried in Greenleaf Cemetary in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas.

He is buried next to his mother Henretta Fannie Wilson Moseley who was married to my great grandfather William Penfield Moseley.

Based on a certain record I have found I believe Wilson is the married name of Henretta Fannie Moseley which has to mean she was a widow or maybe divorced with a son (Silas) when she married my great grandfather.

I believe her maiden name was Kuykendal based on the marriage record which states that H. F. Kuykendal married W. P. Moseley on June 27, 1886.

She is the mother to my great uncle Willard Riley Moseley b. 1888 and Joseph Ira Moseley b. 1890, my grandfather. Her name appears on both of their death certificates.

Do you know this Silas, perhaps his father.

I'm looking for information to help me prove out my theory of her being previously married, perhaps widowed.

Feel free to email me any information at

Thank you,

Joseph Moseley

Willis family in Brownwood Cemetery
Elizabeth D. Willis is my great-great grandmother. If she is not related, could you transfer her to me?
You have her death date, but here is her birth info: 15 January 1825 in Bedford Co. Tennessee.

Left headstone picture for this person, born 6 Jun 1852, died 1 Jan 1947, which would make him just over 93 years old, going on to 94 years.

Left a picture for this person, although the birthdate you have on memorial is different from the date on monument, the death dates are same.
