RE: Duplicate cemeteries There are some discrepancies on dates. I compared but didn't submit anything to forum because I wanted to get your input first. You and I agree on this so I say go forward with your efforts. I did send edits to the contributors that needed to correct their dates. Seems ancestry is quicker to merge cemeteries when the dates are all matching up. If you want to wait till after Christmas I don't mind straightening this out through the editors. We are on the road till late 12/27 and there's no way this is something I'd want to do from my IPhone like I'm doing now. Your call. Let me know. Susan.
Duplicate cemeteries Reed-Odom Family in Blackville (Barnwell Cty,SC) Reed-Birt-Kemp Family (Barnwell County, SC)
Looks like your entries may have been first. The cemetery however is named differently according to the sign posted on the gate (photo of the other cemetery listing).
Question: Did you find out how the Reed-Birt-Kemp Family cemetery got that name? I am guessing that the name was unknown and the person who started this listing used the names of those buried there and called it Reed-Birt-Kemp.... any info on this?
Abner Lawrence Porter I wonder if it would be possible to put a note on his page to help future researchers. A volunteer went to that cemetery last week to take a photo of his grave marker and there is not one. His wife's grave is marked, but his is not. Find A Grave Memorial# 114982056
Mary Ann Agnes Reed Thanks for your note of duplicate, I have now deleted. Generally, I submit several hundred names via the excel upload then FindaGrave will remove the duplicates. However, a few duplicates slip through their check. In addition, I have reviewed individually, I must have missed this one. Thanks.
