Bio Photo Most Ft. Snelling interments of servicemen and their families I have added I didn't know personally. I add head stone photos and a token/note when possible. I do this to honor the men and their families. I want to give their pages something more than just a name and a date.

"Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars."

I'm from Minneapolis, MN and have lived in this area all my life. I'm a proud veteran and spent 3 years in the army and I served two tours of duty in Viet Nam, (late 1969-1972.) I was wounded twice. I was assigned to The First Cavalry Division and was in the infantry and then a combat engineer & operated a bulldozer & later I was assigned to aviation and was a crew chief/door gunner on a UH-1 Huey helicopter. I'm a recipient of the Bronze Star, two Purple Hearts, two Air Medals, two Commendation Medals, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Aircraft Crewman Wings, & a Marksman Rifle Medal.
I'm a former local truck driver of 35 years and a former part time fire photographer for seven years. I was forced to retire in 2004 due to back problems. Now I spend time listing interments. I fill photo requests for Fort Snelling National Cemetery. If you see ANY FT. Snelling memorials with a mistake or missing plots & sections or need a spouse/parents links added please let me know and I will get it corrected or updated.
I do appreciate you visiting Aaron's memorial and for all of your kind words. Thank you so much. It has helped a lot with the passing of my beloved Aaron. Aaron was a blessing and I miss him so much.
If you see anything that I have submitted that needs correction, please let me know. I will be happy to correct it.

RE: My photo requests
You're very welcome, Steve. I was hoping to get some good ones for you but that mottled shade is tough. I might try again once the leaves are down. Great to hear you are making good strides toward getting back to doing those things you love. You are so appreciated!

Thank you
I've been thinking so much about my dad as my kiddos grow. It is suicide prevention day. He was one of many vets who died by suicide. Thank you for visiting his grave for me. I like leaving him messages here. Please give him my love again if you are at the cemetery. I visited you sons website. He sounds so wonderful--and he must have known how much you treasured him because you are obviously such a giving soul. I will send positive thoughts his way and yours.

Thank You
Steve,
Thank you for taking the photo and honoring my father-in-law at Fort Snelling. I'm so sorry for the loss of your son, Aaron. Your service to complete strangers, helping people find their loved ones, is a beautiful tribute to your son and so is the web site for Aaron.
God Bless and Thank You!

Doubs, Crills connected
Hi Steve,

I just wanted to thank you for accepting the connections for the Doubs and Crills etc.

And I too think the photo you took of the Cemetery at Fort Snelling to be the best on the site.

Thank you so much for your service to your country and to this site too. It must be such a lot of work, but we all hope our work will allow folks to reconnect and honor those now gone.
