Here I am with my happiest find ever. It's my GGGGgrandfather Michael, the Revolutionary War ancestor. Thanks especially to Donna M. and Jo K. for the help. |
My sister started ancestor hunting in the 1960's and I picked it up in the 1980's. I'm mostly interested in my father's Burrell family along with Bowers, Billingsley, James and others and my mother's Lear family along with Michael and Nelson. The Burrell crowd is mostly in NE Georgia while the Michael, Nelson, Lear crowd is mostly in Harford County, Maryland.

Thanks for checking Fran! That rules this family out-possibly.

Hi Fran. Trying to find my Michael descendants. Hope you can help. Can you send me the line of Jacob Michael or check your tree? I'm looking for a Jacob Michael born around 1790, served in War of 1812 and married in Preble Co, OH.

|Jack Eslick||Prescott Family Cemetery|
Hello Fran, I can not thank you enough for taking all the photos you did of this cemetery. My 4th great grandmother was Salatha Prescott daughter of Willis Prescott and she was married to my 4th great grandfather Isaac Eslick. They owned this property from about 1778 to 1808 owning a total of 430 acres. They sold 46 acres to Willoughby Prescott before they migrated to Tennessee in 1808. Some of our old family records say that some of the Eslick and Prescott family are buried on that property during the years they owned the property. I am sure the headstones are long gone. I was hoping you might have ran across some of their graves. Also do you have a high resolution picture of the big headstone "Willoughby Prescott" as I can not read the inscription on it in the photo you have posted. Once again thank you from the bottom of my heart for your pictures! Jack Eslick
|PATTY McFERREN-BLANTON & JR BLANTON||Whitewater BCC vs. Montvale-Whitewater|
Hi! We took pix at Whitewater Baptist Church Cemetery, and found 2 profiles.
Whitewater has over 80 graves.
Montvale-Whitewater has on 24 graves.
They are both the same place. You have some memorials at:
which you may want to consider moving to the Whitewater collection:
The actual cemetery was known as Montvale, because that was the name of a community at one time. Don't think it exists now. Anyhow, the cemetery has a sign with the older name. Since there are 4x more memorials in Whitewater, I'm putting any new ones I found there.
|PATTY McFERREN-BLANTON & JR BLANTON||P.S.|
Are you a DAR?
My daughter just helped me get my membership. Our patriot is: Henry Rock, 1735-1815, Quincy, Franklin County, PA, Find A Grave Memorial# 145481071
If you are not now a DAR, my daughter helps people get certified. She just became a certified genealogist with DAR :)
Write back, and I'll send you her e-mail if you need it.

Hi! You may want to move any memorials and cemetery profile photo to:
WHITEWATER BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY
Montvale-Whitewater Baptist Church Cemetery
I put in a few new ones, and just now transferred them to Whitewater. I wrote an e-mail to FindAGrave, but they may not get around to it for centuries :)

Please remove the chalked headstone from this memorial. Chalking is detrimental to headstones and is not allowed per Find a Grave guidelines.
