Here's a poem that touches my heart. It is the reason we are in this service; for both the living and those who have gone on before us.
THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN
Today we walked where others walked on a lonely, windswept hill; today we talked where others cried for loved ones whose lives are stilled. Today our hearts were touched by graves of tiny babies; snatched from the arms of loving kin, in the heartbreak of the ages. Today we saw where the grandparents lay in the last sleep of their time; lying under the trees and clouds - their beds kissed by the sun and wind. Today we wondered about an unmarked spot; who lies beneath this hollowed ground? Was it a babe, child, young or old? No indication could be found. Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay. We had been here once before on a day we'd all like to forget, but will remember forever more. Today we recorded for kith and kin the graves of ancestors past; to be preserved for generations hence, a record we hope will last. Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend, for stones sometimes crumble to dust and generations of folks yet to come will be grateful for your trust.
"Call not back the dear departed anchored safe where storms are o'er on the border land we left them soon to meet and part no more."
Inscription on a gravestone
"Show me the manner in which a nation cares for its dead, and I will measure with mathmatical exactness the tender mercies of its people, their respect for the laws of the land and their loyalty to high ideals."
By William Gladstone

|WalksWithAngels||Mabel Florian photo|
I wanted to let you know that there has not been a stone placed for Mabel, I have added a photo of where the stone may have been placed for her, if added. Mabel is located at Block 9, Walk B, Section 1. And is located South of the marker for Ollie Boone.
|Marie Lorge||Your Cousin|
Hi Marsha, I am Marie (Hill) Lorge, Alice Ruth's daughter. She was on of Tim's older sisters. I have lot's of pictures and stories that I would love to share. Do you by any chance still have great grandpa Fisher's diary? I know it was given to Tim as he was the only boy. I remember seeing it when I was pretty young and would love to see it again. I would also be thrilled to hear from YOU! Marie Lorge

Hello, Is Edna the mother to a James Braggs that worked for McDonnell Douglas in the 80/90's? James was my direct supervisor and after McDonnell Douglas downsized, I lost contact with him, I know James lived in the San Bernardino area at one time, Thank You, Bobby Pierson

You're welcome. It's just that sometimes, you know, a particular memorial will stick in my head, and Amod's was one of them. As I was passing by, I just couldn't resist the urge to stop one more time and see if his name had been added. I'm just glad that it was done.
|B.J. Waters||Amod Carroll|
Hi Marsha! I was going to add a brand new photo, showing that Amod's name was finally added to the headstone, and I see that you already got one! I'm glad that his name was added and that you are aware of it. I just happened to be passing by his burial site when I thought I would give it one more look . . . .
|Ann Suhl||RE: Sarah Lucinda White Collier|
We are indeed related. Sarah's son Cephus Taylor Collier was married twice. His son Willian Fred Collier was my grandfather. He was the first child by the first marriage. I assume Fred's mother died after childbirth and left Cephus with four Children to raise. He the married Eva and they produced many children. Fred never knew his mother for Eva was the only mother he ever knew.
Bell has been meantioned by my father many times. Although I am still researching all the Colliers I still need to fill in the blanks.
I would be happy to share information with you and hopefully exchange information we are both missing.
My nephew, Robert Collier married into your line of Colliers.They joked about being related. However it was only when I sent my info
to him that they discovered that they both had the same great-grand father, Cephus Taylor Collier. If I remember correctly Chester Medera Collier and Florence Cattlet represent Trish's side of the family. Now I have made contact with some of my Collier family in OK via face book and wish to bring current the families as much as I can. If you will search Ancestry.com you will vind my "Collier's through the years," you can trace the line.
My email is: firstname.lastname@example.org.
I hope to hear from you soon.

|B.J. Waters||Another update re Amod:|
I took another look today, and the bronzer has placed a marker, however it only has Ezzard's name on it, and not Amod's. Maybe his name will be added in the future. I have another nice area photo I can add, which is of the entrance to the Alta Plot, with an archway. I also have a photo of the marker with Ezzard's name, and I have placed these photos on Ezzard's memorial.
I sure wish I could report something more positive. I'll check back in another 60 days or so, and if I find anything different, I'll let you know.
|B.J. Waters||Follow-up re Amod Carroll|
Hi Marsha. I was at the cemetery yesterday and asked about a permanent marker for Amod's grave, and was told that there wasn't one on order. I don't understand this, as it looks in the photo as if this is a permanent marker that just needs to have nameplates bolted onto it. For whatever the reason, it seems that the family has not ordered one. I was sure hoping to come back to Mod's gravesite and find a new marker there, but I guess that is not going to happen.
Just thought I'd let you know that I tried again.
