Your tombstone stands among the rest;|
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.
If anyone has an addition or correction to anything I have posted please contact me and I will quickly correct it. I am more than happy to turn over ownership to anyone who requests it. AND PLEASE IF YOU SEE THAT I HAVE ENTERED A NAME TWICE, PLEASE TELL ME ABOUT IT. It is easy to make a duplicate without realizing it.
Also -- another FindAGrave contributor wrote this... I think it says it all:
Please note: This is NOT a numbers game, Nor a "who has who" game here. Some of us are serious about getting names & photos of headstones that are not going to be around and making memorial pages. That is what this is about, making/recording that person lived and died. Like many, I spend long, long hours either in a cemetery, or adding memorial pages to Findagrave.com. I would love to see some of the headstones of family members that were in the 1700 & 1800 of my family, but that isn't going to happen as many are gone.
It doesn't matter who has the memorial page, the important thing is that someone cared enough to make a memorial page to honor that person and that is what findagrave.com is all about. Honoring the deceased, NOT who has what memorial or how many that they have. Thanks!

|karen knapp||Elmina T. Colvin|
I was looking at the photo for Elmina Colvin at Cornell Ceme MI and the DOD looks like 1895 not 1851 as is noted on the info page for her. Her husband Rossolvo died 1894 so conceivably she could have lived that long? The Colvins are related on my grandmother's side. I am a member of the Find A Grave society myself. My e-mail is email@example.com. I could be mistaken but it does not hurt to correct if necessary.

I have an obituary for Denny Ray Tolbert which says that he is buried in Bishop Chapel Cemetery at Rocky Gap. Was he moved?
Thank you for creating, maintaining and transferring my 2nd great grandparent's memorials.

You can transfer the following Browns to me if you'd like:
They were my 2nd great grandparents.
|Teresa Worrall||Robert & Barbara Cass|
Would you please take a look at the dates on the headstones again? I believe that this may be a set of twins. Robert born and died on 10-28-1941. Barbara died on April 21, 1942. This info from Lillie F Cass obituary. and on familysearch.org. Thank you for placing them on Find A Grave.
