I was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio; raised my family there too. It's a really wonderful city in which to raise a family. It has culture, wonderful old and new architecture, reasonably priced homes, suburbs that are within reasonable driving distance to "events"(unfortunately not a great public transit system), highways that are not clogged 24/7, a fantastic zoo, super parks, a struggling, but surviving economy...and, happily, a pretty safe place to live.

After Toledo I lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico, for a while, where I was a professional singer in the Santa Fe Desert Chorale.

After retiring from there, I moved to Walnut Creek, CA, (where we DO have a terrific public transit system) to be nearer (some of) my children and (some of) my grandchildren.

I'm happily doing genealogy...the best part is having found 2 new cousins about which I had NO idea. Ain't the internet a kick?
