|John Heggen||RE: Joseph Perzell|
He would have been my uncle had he survived the war.
|Diane Reuscher||Billy Wright|
Are you certain that he is buried in Calvary Cemetery by West Union, IA.? I walked that whole cemetery twice and didn't find a marker. The cemetery is very small - if it was there I should've found it. Just wondering...

You are very welcome.
|Sharon Christensen||RE: William L Smith|
You are very welcome. He did not have a military marker, unfortunately. I read his story with interest. His service and sacrifice is much appreciated. Thank you, for making these militay memorials honoring those who serve.
We are currently working to identify anyone buried in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Omaha NE that has served in the military. If you have a loved one buried there or know of someone, please send us a message. We place flags on the graves for Memorial Day. This project is sponsored by Centennial Masonic Lodge #326.
If you can send us the names, we will be sure to include them on our list to get a flag.
Thank you for the help with this ongoing project.

It was my privilege to pay my respects and supplement his story, especially on Memorial Day.

My husband is the grandson of John and Elsie Riser and nephew of PFC Merton Riser. Thank YOU for posting the information about his Uncle Merton. The only information we had was that he had been lost during the landing at Tarawa.
|Lorien Powers-Elsey||Thomas Mayo Powers|
I am the granddaughter of Thomas Mayo Powers, US Marine kia IwoJima. He was killed long before I was born. How wonderful for me, to google my father's and come across my Grandfather's info! The family photo is priceless. Thank you SO much! My father and I are both honored in Red's name.

Probably not a relative, but as you have researched so many, I have researched the Russian Molokans. They were a sect broken from the Russian Orthodox. I'm a descendent of many of the Russians; perhaps in time I will find out if I'm related to John.
Whatever information you have would be appreciated. His family would appreciate it.
|Gregory Mangold||Captain Harry B. Barker|
I am Captain Harry B. Barker's nephew. My mother, Margaret Ellen Barker Mangold, was Harry' sister. My name is Gregory Mangold and I live in Richfield, Minnesota.
First of all, thank you for creating the memorial for Uncle Harry. Your memorial contains detailed information about my uncle that I have not known - especially his time at Quantico and his duty stations in the Pacific. I would like to know the sources of your information so I can add it to my research on Uncle Harry. As you might know his medals, including the Navy Cross, is on display in the Grinnell College Fieldhouse.
I look foward to hearing from you. On behalf of the family, thank you very much for creating this memorial.
