Bio

A retired employee of the National Park Service at Whiskeytown, CA (as a Cartographer) and the former Historian of the 91st Training Division (OPS) ... an Army Reserve unit stationed at Fort Hunter Liggett, California. The 91st Division was an Infantry Division that served with great distinction in combat in both World War I (France & Belgium) and in World War II (Italy).

I retired from the US Army Reserve, in 2016, after nearly 39 years of service. Prior to my lengthy Army Reserve duty with the 91st Division, I served in the Active Army in 1974, joining shortly after High School graduation, as an Infantryman. Assigned to B Troop, 1st Squadron, 2nd Armored Cavalry in Germany, I became an expert tank gunner on a Sheridan, an S-2 Sergeant (in Border Operations) and an M-60 tank gunner (in D Company) in that order before the end of my four years of active duty enlistment.

I was the Secretary-Treasurer of the 361st Infantry Association (WWII) ... before this organization of World War II veterans disbanded in September 2019. I met these fine gentlemen, and their wives & families, in my capacity as the Historian of the 91st Division and first attended their Reunions starting in 2009.
