RE: Charles Millheiser # 11906872
Alida,
I have the original of Charles Millheiser's military discharge papers. A cousin whose last name is Millheiser and lives in Florida has created an extensive document regarding the Millheiser family.
You can contact me at my current email address which is meldmeld2003@yahoo.com.

RE: Memorial release
I am sorry I guess I started them and you supplied the pictures. I just lost track of my family and what is happening on each.

Thanks again

RE: Thank you!
You are most welcome.

Just a note and FYI, each year on the Saturday before Memorial Day, scouts, DARs, SARs and hundreds of volunteers place a flag on each and every marker. There are 71,000, and following a very moving ceremony, it takes us about 45 minutes to flag the entire cemetery. It is awesome!

In December this cemetery participates in the Wreaths Across America program. This is the 4th year; the first we placed about 500 wreaths, the second 1,500, the third 4,000, and we are hoping for 10,000. You might enjoy visiting their website at www.wreathsacrossamerica.org to learn more about this program.

I am a National Memorial Lady; one day a month I attend all of the veteran services on that day and since I'm there I take pictures between services.

Thank you for letting me share some information about our cemetery and how we honor our veterans.

Thank you for the picture of Mariette/Maryette's tombstone. Her name has been spelled so many ways - this is helpful! Sure appreciate your time and effort.

RE: Charles Millheiser # 11906872
I have the original copy of Charles Millheiser's Civil War discharge papers, a copy of which was scanned and is on his Find-a-Grave site.

RE: Charles Millheiser # 11906872
Ailda,
The original of the discharge paper is in my safe deposit box. It was in possession of my late mother who is descended from the Millheiser family.(The relationship can be traced on "Find a Grave".)
I would like to learn more about the military history of the unit cited in the discharge paper.
