I've been the family genealogist for the past 20 years and am delighted to be a part of the Findagrave.com site to document the final resting places of our dearly departed friends and family.|
The family surnames I am interested in are Blackwell, Decker, Smith/Daubenschmidt, Koerner, Dale.

Thanks, I must have been just so thrilled to have found Catherine that I didn't read closely enough. I am researching my 4th Great-Grandfather William McBrayne Brown II's family. From 1789 on, William & his wife Jane and their family lived on Bradshaw's Run in an area of WV now almost exclusively occupied by Amish / Mennonite families. Catherine was their 5th child & 3rd daughter. She would have been born over in the Shenandoah Valley region of VA before the family moved to what is now Summers County, WV.

Do you know what their religious background was? With such unusual names it sounds like they were maybe Mennonite or Amish, or maybe Jewish?

Please accept my apologies. I usually check well before I add anything, but this time it appears I didn't check well enough. I'm in the process of photographing the entire cemetery, which by my estimates has well over 10,000 folks interred. Again, I apologize. Warm regards.

No I didn't. I came across that info, and felt like it should be posted. Folks always ask 'what happened'. Unless someone disagrees, I'll leave it as is.
I have transferred the management of his memorial to you. We are distantly related through the Cochran's. (First cousins 3X removed)

Hi Jeanne, I'm Chad Moser, Frances Blackwell's Great Grandson. I'm really enjoying all the work you have done on these entries, but the first photo you have on Grandma Frances' page, the portrait, is actually her daughter Mary's Senior Class photo (class of '44). I know because I have one of the originals that my mom gave me when my dad died (it was his). Just an FYI.

Wanted to let you know that Dick Noel is buried in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Went to his funeral today and that is listed in the service program
