I love genealogy and am attempting to locate and link all of our family members and any others that I come across on findagrave.com. Also tryng to add photos, vital records, census records and any other family photos that someone might enjoy.|
I would like to thank all the people that have put my family on findagrave and have been kind enough to transfer my family memorials to me for management. Corrections are welcomed. Please use the edit tab on the memorial for suggestions.
If you copy pictures, markers or obituaries, etc. from my memorials, it is much appreciated and expected to include my memorial and findagrave name and number as the source.
We are the chosen. In each family there is one (or more) who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again. To tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts but, instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the story tellers of the tribe. All tribes (hopefully) have at least one. We have been called, as it were, by our genes. Those who have gone before cry out to us: Tell our story. So, we do. In finding them, we somehow find ourselves.

You are very welcome! I was happy to help.
|Sandman8024||RE: alfred Silva|
Alfred Silva was born Anebel Angelo, son of Manuel Joseph Angelo (nee Machado). Manuel came to America as a Machado, but due to some confusion with the mail in Clarksburg, CA he changed his name to Angelo according to my Dad. My Dad, Alfred (nee Anebel Angelo) left home very early in life and changed his name to Alfred Silva. He got upset with me when I was trying to "dig" into his background. I have two spellings for his name; one as Anibel, and the other as Anebel. Can you verify the correct spelling? Also, thanks for the info on Mary Leal Angelo. I have had many problems trying to put her family together.
|TIMOTHY D MARVIN||Dora Z Trill photo request|
Your photo request for Dora Z (Trill) Douglass in East Nelson Township cemetery can be fulfilled by searching for the name under Dora Z Douglass. There is what amounts to a duplicate memorial with a photo. The inscriptions are on a base that was fully buried until I dug it up last year.
George N Douglass/Douglas is a full brother to my 2nd great grandmother, Minnie Maude (Douglass/Douglas) Marvin. Their Douglass parents are also in East Nelson cemetery.
Some older death records will say DeCou cemetery, as this cemetery sits on the old property of George DeCou, and the white bronze monument of the DeCou family is a readily identifiable feature. Nelson Township was not even aware of this alternate name.
Dora was married under the name Celma. The parents are David B and Margery (Fleetwood) Trill. She is shown as a 20 year old on her wedding day 3 July 1897. The 1880 census of the David Trill family does show an Isadore Z Trill of the right age. I believe the marriage record should have shown her name as Zelma. I conclude her given name is Isadore Zelma Trill.
Several members of the Douglass family began dropping the second S of their name during this period.
Your contributions are very helpful to the related families!
Thank You, Timothy Douglas Marvin
|Melvin Sands||Manuel & Sebastian Anaya pics|
Monday I went to San Patricio Cemetery. My wife and I searched the cemetery but could not find the graves of Manuel & Sebastian Anaya. Unfortunately, there are many, many graves that are unmarked or have wooden crosses with no names. Leave the request up because I am sure I will return there. There are many graves not recorded in findagrave. Melvin Sands, East Bernard, Texas.

Yes, you got the correct ones. I see you are in CA. So am I.
|Monica Brennan||RE: Morris family|
By extending my family history research to neighbors and friends, I have found much shared information between the Morris/Hutton/Tasker/Arcady families and my lines McKean/Brennan! Among the documents in my care, we have found items for my ancestors neighbors and friends and they have found our family documents in theirs! It's been so exciting! I just found a bunch of baby shower documents from 1928 with all the "friends" together but my fondest find is a document in the McKean archives with Mabel G (Hutton) Morris sisters performing in a recital of sorts dating to about 1885/88. Moses Morris is the great grandfather of our vacation property's neighbor! While our family cabin was built only about 50 years ago, theirs was built much earlier (date escapes me but likely late 1890's) - the two families were such fond friends they "vacationed" together for generations! (and still do!)
