Bio and Links
Bio Photo I enjoy genealogy, history, and lineage societies. I am in school full time, but when I get a chance I traipse cemeteries. I tend to gravitate towards military headstones, freemason headstones, headstones for children/infants, and people born prior to 1930. At the time I joined Find-A-Grave, I worked full time and took headstone photographs on my lunch hour.

I am HAPPY to transfer a memorial if I have made one for someone related to you! I love it when people find a member of their family or one of their ancestors. Please leave me a message with the person's name and memorial number. The only reason I would not transfer a memorial is if the deceased is one of my lateral or collateral ancestors, in which case I'll let you know.

PLEASE NOTE: In trying to take photographs of graves, I often have very little information except for what is on the headstone or slab. I always search for the person before adding the page (usually with as little information as possible to get as wide a variety as hits as I can), but sometimes variations on surnames don't come up. If I have created a duplicate memorial, please let me know! It is NOT my intention to create duplicate memorials and I will be glad to delete my memorial if the deceased already has a page. If you have additional information for any memorial I have created, please let me know and I will be happy to add it.

RE: Lewis & Margaret Groce
Thank you so very much, Sherrie. I can't wait to view Lewis's tombstone. I have walked through many a cemetery looking for my ancestors. I think it is wonderful that you take the time to do this for others!! Have the rest of a wonderful summer.

George Edward Ricks
Thank you so much for taking and adding the photos for George. Please know that your time and efforts in finding his grave, then photographing, and then posting, are very appreciated. The photos are very clear.

RE: Andrews Cemetery
Thanks Sherrie for the response. Yes the cemetery has been neglected for a while, only getting a good clean-up only on occasion for a long time but not on a schedule. Twice a year is not enough to keep it looking good during the summer months. There are a number of unmarked graves there including some related to me but we don't know how id who is who and where except for sinks in the ground. There used to be stones that marked each location but those are gone now.

As far as transferring your information to me, please let me get more familiar with FIND A GRAVE before doing that as I am a new member and don't want to make a mistake that could jeopardize the history you have.

Thanks and God bless,
Wayne Bowden

Elbert G. McGee
Do you have any other information on Elbert G. McGee? My 3rd great grandfather was also named Elbert McGee, and lived in Henry County, Ga. I know there is a record of enlistment for an Elbert McGee in Clayton County, Ga., which is the next county over. I don't see but one census record for Elbert McGee, child of Perry McGee. Do you know what his middle initial stands for? Thank you

RE: Mount Zion Cemetery - Bolingbroke
Thank you so much Sherrie'! We definitely ended up at the first Mt. Zion church/ was a brick building and I knew it wasn't the one I was looking for. I am in Blue Ridge, GA for another week, but will be heading to my other home in the Tampa Bay area next week. Hopefully we can take the time to stop and visit the cemetery on the way home. I have many relatives buried in Monroe and Talbot counties...some of them are very remote, old family cemeteries. Maybe we could compare notes later and see if you have heard of them. Thank you again for your time.
